What you'll do The Mammography Technologist I will perform radiologic and mammographic imaging using ALARA principles. Provides prompt, efficient, courteous services to patients while taking high-quality radiographs. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Performs mammography, DEXA (as needed), and diagnostic radiography examinations, and maintains up-to-date mammography CE credits. * Maintains equipment for proper diagnostic imaging * Consults with radiologist when necessary * Accepts patients and verifies correct preparation for exam ordered/explains procedure to patient * Reports equipment issues to supervisor and calls in service as necessary * Quality controls all images, maintains inventory and adheres to safety regulations/ALARA * Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain the maximum diagnostic image corresponding to the body part being imaged to limit the need for repeated exposure * Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards * Maintains an excellent quality of x-ray radiographs with a minimum of a 5% repeat rate as randomly checked by Leadership * Performs mammography x-ray examinations in accordance with the ACR guidelines * Develops the x-ray radiographs including the evaluation of films for technical quality * Prepares, identifies and/or administers medication as prescribed by a licensed practitioner * Explains all procedures to patients and answers any questions or concerns regarding the test as seen in patient surveys and noted by the leader * Transports patients to and from the room when required as designated by the leader * If applicable: provides fluoroscopic assistance to the Radiologists, setting up sterile trays, preparing and dispensing barium or other chemical mixtures as necessary, and assists in the positioning of patients during fluoroscopic examination as noted by the Radiologist * Selects appropriate technical factors on an individual patient basis and operates equipment * Participates in quality assurance of all equipment and processing according to ACR guidelines * Assists the Radiologist with mammography biopsy as observed by the Radiologist, where applicable * Checks instrument calibrations daily; What you'll do Under the direction of the Cardiovascular Imaging Medical Director and Cardiovascular Imaging Manager the Cath Lab Interventional Radiology Technician II performs prompt, courteous hemodynamic monitoring, accurate documentation and recording of all Cardiac, Vascular and Radiological procedural hemodynamics and equipment usage. Perform invasive technical diagnostic procedures and support for patients in the outpatient, inpatient and acute care setting. Maintains inventory and stock for the Cardiovascular Imaging suites. Expected to independently participate on the Cardiovascular Imaging On Call Team which will include weekend and holiday coverage as well as weekday coverage. * Assist with evaluation, preparation and after care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization or interventional procedures and EP testing. * Prepare and skilled with all equipment used during procedures in CVI. * Proficient with monitoring and documentation utilizing physiologic recorder system. * Knowledge demonstrated through maintaining ACLS and emergency life support needs in the CVI. * Monitor and records, processes and interprets intra-cardiac pressures and electrocardiograph signals during procedures; REPORTS TO: Radiology/Imaging Services Manager DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Adjusts X-ray equipment to appropriate settings for part to be examined. 2. Adjusts collimators to show visible cone cut off on all procedures. 3. Wears protective clothing as necessary. 4. Uses proper film size for part to be examined. 5. Positions X-ray tube and patient at proper angles and distances to obtain clear and undistorted radiographs. 6. Able to perform satisfactory operation of all portable radiographic equipment. 7. Assists in record keeping and filing as time allows. 8. Assists in performing first aid as necessary. 9. Keeps work area neat and clean. 10. Maintains composure during crisis situation and responds appropriately. 11.
