We learn, grow, and achieve more - in our careers and in our communities. ** Summary:** This is an on-site position located in Columbus, Ohio SUMMARY AND PURPOSE OF POSITION Psychometrists are responsible for the administration and scoring of neuropsychological and psychological tests under the direct supervision of a clinical neuropsychologist. Neuropsychological testing primarily involves the administration and scoring of paper-and-pencil cognitive tests (e.g., tests of memory, attention, language, problem solving) and mental health questionnaires. Additionally, the psychometrist will also make note of behavioral observations during the assessment that may be used by the neuropsychologist to aid in test interpretation. The psychometrist may also be responsible for collecting demographic information from a patient as well as other tasks, as assigned. Our patient population consists of adults of all ages (18-90+) with neurological, medical, and psychiatric conditions. The most common referral diagnoses include neurodegenerative disorders (e.g., Alzheimer's disease and other dementias), movement disorders (e.g., Parkinson's disease), epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, stroke, and multiple sclerosis. Patients often commonly have comorbid psychiatric disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety). The ideal candidate for this position will be detail-oriented, conscientious, efficient, flexible, and will enjoy working within a collaborative team. The ideal candidate will also be able to quickly learn and become independent on administration and scoring procedures for neuropsychological testing, and will be committed to providing a high standard of patient care. Previous clinical experience is strongly preferred but not required. Previous relevant experience, course work, or clinical training is strongly preferred. Observes patient throughout procedure and responds to any observed change period manipulates equipment in proper manner, adjust technical factors to assure optimal images, and observes equipment safety. Critiques images inputs through only those optimal for interpretation. Repeats images as necessary. 15% Prepares patients for examination -- Receives orders/request for procedures from physician, nursing unit, or radiology office and makes necessary entries in electronic medical record. Greets patient and friendly manner and makes positive identification. Explains procedure in clear, understandable terms. Ensures all necessary clothing and jewelry is removed and patient is properly attired. Starts IBS and draws up medications. 5% Performs miscellaneous related duties -- Assumes duties of electronic imaging technician when necessary. Processes images for interpretation.
