The Role:

Morning Consult is looking to add an ambitious, entrepreneurial Senior Account Executive who will help accelerate bookings growth by attracting and retaining institutional financial services clients. This role requires the drive and intellectual curiosity to apply our cutting-edge and emerging investment research products to a range of financial services clients and use cases across the global macroeconomic and fundamental equity investment landscape.

Morning Consult is looking for a Lead Economist with a focus on Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) to join the company's growing Economic Research Unit. In this role, you will directly report to the Chief Economist and be part of the firm's growing team of economic experts. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to develop written analyses and content using Morning Consult's proprietary data from the EMEA region in order to help our clients make better business decisions and position Morning Consult as a leader in economic and geopolitical research.

This is a new role at Morning Consult and is part of the growing Analyst unit that will be responsible for powering Morning Consult's new subscription offering that uses Morning Consult's proprietary data to deliver analysis and insight on the most pressing issues and trends facing business, investment and government leaders. As one the first regional economists on the team, you will work with a group of internal stakeholders to define the role and create an example for other regional economists to follow and eventually build and manage a team of economists responsible for covering EMEA.

You will be positioned in the media and at industry events as a thought leader in fast-moving economic and geopolitical developments.

The ideal candidate in this role will be able to operate independently, has a deep understanding of economic and geopolitical trends across the EMEA region, particularly Europe, as well as of survey research and data, and a knack for writing compelling analysis for an elite readership. This role is a unique opportunity to lay the groundwork for a new team and product line at a rapidly growing company and will get to take advantage of Morning Consult's wealth of existing resources and leading-edge data and technology products.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

* Write weekly and long-term, forward-looking analyses of significant economic and geopolitical trends across Europe, the Middle East and Africa affecting businesses and policymakers using Morning Consult's proprietary data.
* Build and manage a team of economists responsible for covering EMEA.
* Plan and execute a comprehensive EMEA economic analysis calendar and be the go-to in-house resource for all economic-related research in EMEA.
* Develop, update and maintain monthly EMEA chartbooks that present a compelling economic and geopolitical analysis of Morning Consult's proprietary data
* Collaborate with our client services and sales division to identify uEnique areas of insight and serve as a resource with clients and internal stakeholders
* Represent Morning Consult publicly as an expert in the EMEA region by speaking regularly at conferences, client events, and with broadcast outlets and major media organizations
* Conduct research on issues related to structural economic trends, business cycle fluctuations and risk in the EMEA region to support content produced by the Economic Research, Geopolitical Risk and Industry Analysis Divisions.

* 6-10 years of professional writing and quantitative research experience in the field of economics, finance, consulting or economic policy, including a minimum of 2 years serving in a management or team lead capacity
* Master's or PhD degree in economics, statistics, political science or other relevant field.
* Fluent in French, German or Italian (reading, writing and speaking)
* Introductory time series analysis and econometrics
* Familiarity with academic, government and private sector macroeconomic research related to Europe
* Familiarity with public and private employment, output and price datasets
* Familiarity with survey research and methodology
* Expert in PowerPoint and Excel
* Programming experience in R or Python preferred
* Analytic writing for the business community
* Experience presenting and speaking at conferences, on panels or with media
