WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
The Qualified (Certified) Medication Aide (QMA or CMA) assists with administering medications to residents as directed by the physician, nurse supervisor, and Director of Nursing (DON). Additionally, this role assists residents with activities of daily living.
Key Responsibilities
The Qualified (Certified) Medication Aide sets up, administers, and records certain prescribed medications for residents in the facility under the supervision of a licensed nurse and as allowed by State regulatory agencies.
Practice the five rights of medication administration within the scope of your role.
Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed.
Properly label, store, receive and destroy medication per company policy.
Perform medication charting as directed by the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
Qualifications
Certified as a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) or Certified Medication Aide (CMA) by the state and maintain a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification in good standing with the state.

What does a Medication Aide do for Bonaventure?

What does a Medication Aide do for Bonaventure?

As a medication aide, you assist our senior residents in their daily well-being, including personal services, medication assistance, and social-recreational activities. You will report to the wellness director.You Will:
Complete nursing treatments and monitor residents' vital signs
Maintain medication/treatment records, comply with regulatory, OSHA, and incident reporting guidelines.
Communicate with physician, pharmacy, and family as indicated to assure medications are received promptly
Store medications and equipment and keep the medication room clean and orderly.
Follow the resident service plan including; assistance, bathing, grooming, administering medication, and other activities of daily living (ADLs), noting changes in the resident condition.
Demonstrate knowledge of and follow infection control procedures.
Support the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and home-like environment for residents.
You Currently:
Typical candidates have six months of experience in senior caregiving or med pass.
Can obtain CPR/BLS certification
Compose reports in English.
