1851

In 1851 Reuter opened an office with the help of an 11 year-old office boy at 1 Royal Exchange Building in London's financial centre, located close to the main telegraph offices.

1872

West Publishing is founded The company is founded by John B. West and his brother Horatio in 1872 in St Paul, Minnesota.

1947

The Reuters Trust Principles are born Reuters restructures itself so that it is owned by the British National and Provincial Press, together with (in 1947) the Press Associations of Australia and New Zealand.

1964

In 1964 he developed a new approach to marketing a consulting firm: Perspectives, brief and highly provocative essays on strategy.

1968

The growth share matrix, created in 1968, helps companies decide how to prioritize different businesses by their degree of, and potential for, profitability.

1977

In 1977 Joe Motz, our Founder and Chief Executive Officer, was armed with a passion for horticulture and an unstoppable entrepreneurial spirit.

1982

After graduating with a degree in business administration/management information systems in 1982 and becoming a certified public accountant, Margolis focused his career on the healthcare field.

1991

After selling the business in 1991, he launched Croghan & Associates to apply the technology developed for EFT to the healthcare industry.

1997

In 1997, events conspired that allowed Margolis to begin to do something to address the systemic problems of the healthcare industry that he knew all too well.

While undergoing a pair of operations in the mid-1990s he was mistakenly given a drug to which he was allergic, despite having noted the problem on numerous forms. Thus, in 1997 he launched Margolis Health Enterprises and struck out on his own to provide technology consulting to healthcare organizations.

1998

In March 1998, M.C. Health would take the name TriZetto Group Inc.

2000

Reuters continues to innovate in the foreign exchange space Reuters launches Dealing 2000, acting as a broker for the first international computerized matching service for foreign exchange rates.

2001

For the year 2001, revenues improved 145 percent over the previous year to $218 million.

2002

Sales increased to $265.2 million in 2002, all achieved through the growth of existing operations.

2003

The focus remained on internal growth in 2003.

The company went public in 2003 shortly after acquiring Quorum Broadcasting and other stations that doubled Nexstar’s station portfolio.

2004

Sales dipped to $274.6 million in 2004, but for the first full year in its history, TriZetto achieved profitability, posting net income of $8.5 million.

2005

In addition to further software enhancements, TriZetto completed its first acquisition in four years in 2005, picking up CareKey Inc., developer of advanced care management software.

The company turned another profit of $22 million in 2005 on revenues of $292.2 million.

2016

The Company’s continued execution led to the 2016 purchase of 71 television stations and the digital media properties of Media General, which made Nexstar one of the country’s leading local media companies.

2019

Upon completion of its acquisition of Tribune Media in 2019, Nexstar became the largest local television broadcast and digital media company in the nation with a portfolio of 200 broadcast stations in 116 markets reaching more than 68% of United States television households.

2020

Thomson Reuters goes carbon neutral In a continuing commitment to becoming more environmentally responsible, Thomson Reuters announced its goal to be carbon neutral by the end of the year and to source renewable energy for 100% of its global energy needs by 2020.
