The Managing Director, Nature Finance leads NatureVest's team of impact finance professionals in developing and executing on impact investment and sovereign debt products. This senior finance expert provides oversight of and input into the development of both sovereign and non-sovereign transactions and new product lines, with accountability for managing teams to originate and close transactions, source investment capital and structure transactions to deliver conservation outcomes aligned with TNC's 2030 Goals. They also provide financing expertise to inform the development of new private equity, corporate finance and other finance mechanisms to deliver impact. They oversee numerous projects across relevant geographies in coordination with TNC Global Strategy and Regional Leadership colleagues, cultivate new partners and opportunities, and manage external relationships with finance institutions, NGOs, country governments, and other key stakeholders within NatureVest's mandate. The Managing Director, Nature Finance directly manages NatureVest's Impact Investments and Sustainable Debt teams. They report to the Managing Director of NatureVest.
Location: Washington, D.C. or New York City preferred, other locations will be considered.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field and 9 years related work experience in a private sector environment, such as investment banking, multilateral finance or government entity, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Debt and structured finance experience and experience structuring, negotiating and closing debt and equity transactions, including in emerging markets.
Experience with debt swap structures, terms and mechanics.
Experience with impact investing structures.
Track record of ensuring programmatic commitments, policies and procedures, financial standards and legal requirements are met and managed for compliance.
Ability to direct the design and implementation of complex and diverse projects, setting deadlines and ensuring program accountability.
Ability to make strategic decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgment.
Experience negotiating complex legal agreements from a business and financial perspective.
Experience working at a senior level.
Written and verbal fluency in English.
Desired Qualifications:
15 to 20+ years experience in financial services and transactions.
Experience managing a team of finance professionals to close financial transactions.
Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience.
Strong team player who can build relationships and work collaboratively across the organization in an unstructured environment and with Conservancy partners; prior experience working with NGOs a plus.
Experience both in and outside the U.S. strongly preferred. Demonstrated commitment to developing and practicing global literacy.

We're Looking for You:
Reporting to the Senior Corporate Engagement Advisor, Investment Engagement, you will be responsible for leading targeted engagement strategies with financial institutions, companies, and NGO partners. This role will own and manage a select number of high-priority collaborations. You will take ownership for the project and coordinate with key stakeholders internally and externally, monitor and measure project progress, conduct corrective action as necessary, and communicate project status information to all stakeholders. You will perform risk management and conflict management, as well as collaboratively solve complex problems. You will utilize project management methodologies and processes and ensure all organizational and divisional standards are met. RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
Drive strategic partnerships with financial institutions to embed biodiversity and nature-related considerations into decision-making. Ensures program compliance with internal policies and external requirement.
Develops strategic partnerships with relevant groups to lead engagement strategies with financial institutions, investor forums, and corporate actors to promote nature-positive approaches in agricultural supply chains.
Serves as a team leader for assigned projects and coordinate the work of others, including managing and implementing complex projects, including setting project timelines, managing project teams, developing and managing project budgets, supporting deliverables, and communicating to stakeholders with a high degree of autonomy.
Lead or co-lead coordination of meetings, workshops, and webinars with corporate and civil society partners.

What You'll Bring:

Salary Information:

Position Summary:

Position Summary

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Contracts and Finance Administration, the Contracts Specialist will be responsible for the preparation, review and administration of contracts and agreements between Audubon and its independent contractors, grantees and other entities. They will work with Project Managers in national and state programs to determine the best agreement mechanism and advise on alternative clauses, special risk factors and sound business terms. They will work closely with Grant Specialists and the Finance and Legal teams to ensure agreements comply with company policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and grant obligations. They will manage the contract lifecycle, including drafting, signing, amending, and closeout.
This position will work closely with the Senior Director and Finance staff to cultivate a Community of Practice consisting of finance and administrative staff in the field with a focus on standardizing and implementing best practices for contract related activities. They will also inform processes as we develop the new contract management system and serve as the liaison between the field and finance on contract administration in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) framework.
This is a hybrid position based in Audubon's New York City office. We will also consider remote candidates within the United States.

Essential Functions
* Review and assist in drafting contracts, grant agreements and amendments as requested by project managers. Ensure essential terms are included and described clearly and completely.
* Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide contractual solutions.
* Determine appropriate agreement template for each engagement.
* Advise on sound business terms to be included and negotiated.
* Ensure subgrants and contracts required by grant awards are completed and that grant requirements are passed through to the subgrantees.
* Determine if complexity of engagement requires further legal or financial team participation in preparation of agreements.

* Ensure insurance certificates and other documents required from contractors are collected.
* Shepherd agreements through signature process.
* Ensure executed agreements are communicated to necessary parties to provide contract visibility and awareness and to fulfil regulatory filings.
* Regularly review policies and procedures and make recommendations for improvements that allow for efficient and smooth functioning operations.
* Provide input to design and usage of contract management system to ensure streamlined and comprehensive processing of agreements.
* Maintain and foster culture of safety.

Qualifications and Experience
* Associates degree in related field required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and work experience will also be considered.
* At least five years demonstrated work experience in a contract administration or management position.
