The New Bohemian Innovation Collaborative (NewBoCo) Leadership

David Tominsky is an entrepreneur and community builder based in Cedar Rapids Iowa. He is currently the Chief Relationship Officer for The New Bohemian Innovation Collaborative (NewBoCo).

Tominsky had a 15-year career in the technical staffing industry. After spending 10 years growing the Iowa market for one of the largest staffing companies in the world, he helped launch an IT consulting division for an established HR consulting company before starting his own IT and engineering staffing firm. His work involved recruiting highly skilled technical talent for Iowa-based companies.

As an entrepreneurial ecosystem builder focused on the local startup community he's organized events like Iowa's Creative Corridor Open Coffee Series, BarcampICR, Startup Weekend Cedar Rapids, Startup Weekend Iowa City, 1 Million Cups, Caine's Arcade Global Cardboard Challenge, and many events during Global Entrepreneurship Week and Computer Science Education Week.

He has helped launch several PreK-12 STEM chapters like Coder Dojo Cedar Rapids, Imagination Foundation Cedar Rapids, Google CS First and littleBits Cedar Rapids which helped establish the foundation for NewBoCo's K-12 Education work.

He served as the first Program Manager for the Iowa Startup Accelerator from 2014-2016, where he helped lead the program that brought 19 early stage tech startups to Cedar Rapids in its first two years.

He served as the Managing Director for the Iowa Startup Accelerator from 2016-2018. The 2016 ISA Cohort included 6 early stage businesses. 100% of the teams were Iowa-based companies and 50% of the teams were woman-led companies. In 2017, ISA invested in 7 new companies doing business in virtual reality, healthcare, transportation, agriculture, and experience marketing.

Today, Tominsky serves as the Chief Relationship Officer for The New Bohemian Innovation Collaborative where he focuses on growing enterprise partnerships for the nonprofit.

Jill Wilkins is a Chief Operating Officer at The New Bohemian Innovation Collaborative (NewBoCo) and is based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She has worked as Event Planner at Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, Director of Events at Renaissance Group Inc, and Box Office Manager & Marketing Assistant at Cedar Rapids Symphony. Jill attended Wartburg College between 1999 and 2008 and Augustana College between 1998 and 1999.
