Understand the Library's technology: Google Suite, Workday, and other systems as required
3 months, this person will:
Support all of the CDO's administrative needs including short and long-term schedule management, meeting coordination and preparation, internal and external communications, etc
Make the various processes related to the CDO's administrative needs their own
Understand the administrative needs for the board and trustee meetings facilitated by the CDO including planning and logistics, documentation, timelines, deliverables and other meeting needs.

6 months and beyond, this person will:
Successfully perform the core functions of this role with minimal supervision as outlined below, and continue to improve processes
Responsibilities:
Acts as primary staff to the Chief Digital Officer including communication with internal and external executives, Library partners, assistants and other partners
Coordinates and manages the Chief Digital Officer's calendar (in coordination with the Chief of Staff, Digital) and handles correspondence to and from the CDO's office
Maintain systems to manage the efficient flow of information and the storage of documents, correspondence, and other materials

They use professional teachers to offer free instruction to adult patrons in reading, writing, speaking and listening from a 0 to 8th grade level. Through formal classes in language and literacy, as well as elective offerings such as English conversation and citizenship preparation groups, AELL has taken on the charge to expand ESOL instruction in the Library.
The Student Mentor works as part of the Intake team that welcomes, orients, assesses and formally registers new students into the program. They are responsible for accurate student information collection and data entry. The Student Mentor is also expected to provide administrative support and complete general office duties as assigned.

Reporting to the St George Hub Manager and Intake Advisor, the Student Mentor will:
Assists in entering statistical data for all ESOL/ABE classes
Assists in tracking demographic information for information sessions

Responsibilities

Picking up and delivering all library materials including print and non-print materials, mail, films, office equipment and other library supplies

Delivering parcels on foot when motor vehicles are not available or inoperative
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspection daily

Job DescriptionDescriptionOverview The Technology Infrastructure department is responsible for planning, engineering, installing and operating the technology infrastructure throughout NYPL. These PCs, phones, network equipment and communications circuits provide patrons and staff access to the Internet, public and enterprise applications and other information resources, thereby supporting the entire mission of the Library. We also work with Capital Planning to ensure that all new or renovated buildings include the latest in technology infrastructure.
The Manager, Telecommunications will lead the Telecommunications team. The position is also responsible for interfacing with key business leaders to review needs, define requirements, and execute technical implementation. They will review upcoming technical needs (upgrades, road map) and determine optimal balance between functionality and security for such deployments. The manager will also have primary responsibility for reliable operation of in-house and contracted voice services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership in planning, deploying and operating the NYPL telephony environment, consisting of Nortel/Avaya CS1000 and Lucent G3 PBXes, Avaya VoIP handsets, Avaya Call Manager and ACD systems, branch Nortel BCM and Partner key systems, and the IP, SIP and POTs circuits that connect them.
Deliver reliable voice calling, voicemail, ACD and audio conferencing services.
Lead efforts to install and upgrade the voice systems to a common VoIP platform.
Manage two staff Telecommunications Technicians, organizing their daily activities and ensuring their timely response to repairs and request tickets.
Supervise other IT staff and outside vendors as needed to complete telephony projects and repairs.
Prepare RFPs and bid specifications for voice equipment replacement, upgrade, and expansion, as well as small data/phone cabling installations.
Manage telecom vendors that provide hardware support and provision/maintain the circuits, and provide outsourced services such as voice conferencing.
Maintain an accurate inventory of the voice system equipment and circuits.
Periodically reconcile telecom bills against active services to ensure proper billing.

Job DescriptionDescriptionOverview Drawing from a highly diverse pool of high school and college students often from under-resourced communities, the New York Public Library's Page Program has offered young New Yorkers a unique professional work experience that focuses on the joy of reading, community engagement, and public service. Today, the Library employs nearly 300 Library Pages. The Library now seeks to reinvest and refocus the Page Program to become an even greater engine of advancement for young, diverse New Yorkers, ultimately establishing a more robust pipeline into the various library professions as well as in departments that historically have difficulty recruiting and retaining diverse candidates. Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Program Manager will:
Lead the design and implementation of the Page Fellowship program, including the development of expected outcomes and work processes for interactions and budgetary oversight
Partner with managers across the organization to understand future talent needs, ensure the appropriate experiential learning opportunities are available to Page Fellows and ensure a robust and engaging experience for program participants
Partner with the Employee Experience team to support the recruitment of Page Fellows and identify and create employee development programs
Provide support to Page Fellows in identifying opportunities suited for their career goals
Develop processes, policies, and procedures to increase the efficiency of program administration
Partner with other stakeholders (Marketing, Development, and Education) to facilitate the implementation and growth of this program
