Department: Counseling & Psych Services Salary/Grade: EXS/10 Kellogg School of Management-based professional offering mental health services to the Kellogg community with a particular focus on providing services to Kellogg students. Embedded in the Kellogg School of Management, the Staff Therapist will conduct mental health evaluations and provide brief individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, referrals, and outreach and educational programming. Expertise in the mental health issues facing graduate and professional students is highly preferred. Direct reporting relationship to Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and a dotted line to the Assistant Dean and Director of Student Life of Kellogg.
While a standard work week for this position is 37.5 hours, the specific work hours for this position will vary to accommodate the need for mental health services for Kellogg students. The Staff Therapist in this position, in collaboration with supervisors, will determine a work schedule that may include 4-8 evening hours (after 5pm) per week depending on the time in the academic year. In addition, this position requires some additional evening hours and occasional weekend duties. The Staff Therapist may provide 2-3 evening or weekend outreach events for Kellogg students per term (e.g., wellness events, new student orientation, etc.).

Specific Responsibilities:
Clinical Services
* Provide individual and group psychotherapy for Kellogg students, including mental health issues facing graduate and professional students. Understanding of mental health challenges common for this student population.
* Provide triage, initial assessments, crisis management, daytime walk-in emergency services, and assume some after-hours responsibilities for emergency services/response for Kellogg students (Kellogg students also have access to the CAPS after-hours emergency service).
* Maintain clinical records and necessary statistics of psychotherapeutic and other client contacts with Kellogg students in Titanium Electronic Record System.
* Consult with psychiatrists in conjunction with prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medication use for Kellogg student psychotherapy clients.

* Consult with CAPS therapists regarding clinical cases as needed.

* Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as an independent mental health provider (e.g., psychologist, licensed clinical professional counselor, or licensed clinical social worker) by the State of Illinois (i.e., at time of application, must have completed all licensure requirements including successfully passing any examinations and completing any clinical supervision hours required for licensure by the State of Illinois). Illinois license must be obtained no later than 12 months after hire date.
* Experience in the provision of group therapy.
* Possess outstanding and culturally responsive clinical skills and a well-integrated understanding of short-term therapy, crisis intervention, consultation, and developmental community-based intervention programming.

Position Summary
The Postdoctoral Staff Therapist position is designed for postdoctoral clinicians (e.g., met requirements for PsyD/PhD and are pursuing licensure hours) who are interested in providing therapy, supervision, and training in a counseling center with a diverse population of students with an emphasis on multiculturalism and social justice. The position has an emphasis on clinical service delivery, with an opportunity to deepen outreach/consultation and supervision/training skills. While we pride ourselves on a position that provides a breadth of experience common to clinicians in a university setting, we are pleased to offer opportunities to Postdoctoral Staff Therapists to focus on an area of specialty.
Duties & Responsibilities
Direct clinical work of 21-23 hours per week, including 2-3 regularly scheduled Initial Consultations per week, 15-16 hours of individual psychotherapy and up to 3 hours of group therapy co-leadership (two groups). Provide 2 Supervision/Triage hours per week, which entails providing brief crisis/triage walk-in support to students presenting with urgent, same-day needs, consultation to UIC staff and faculty regarding their support of students, and consultation within the Counseling Center to staff and trainees. Supervise two advanced doctoral psychotherapy externs (one per semester) on half of their individual psychotherapy caseload. Other supervision/training opportunities, such as for specialty outreach programs or group therapy, may also be available. Co-lead a training seminar with a staff member; seminar leadership will be informed by the Postdoctoral Staff Therapist's specialty interests and seminar availability.Potential options include Multicultural Seminar, Outreach Seminar, Group Therapy Seminar, and Supervision of Supervision Seminar. Develop/provide 3 outreach programs over the course of the year with additional involvement in the Counseling Center informational presentations held in early fall and orientation activities held in summer. Present in the Professional Issues Seminar for trainees and staff on the topic of emerging expertise. Participate in the weekly staff and clinical consultation meetings and bi-weekly training consultation meetings. Serve as a committee member of the Post-Doctoral Staff Therapist search committee. Participate in application review in Internship selection. Other duties as assigned by the Counseling Center.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of a doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology prior to the start of the post-doctoral position is required; note that all degree requirements, including your dissertation, must be completed prior to the start date:
APA-accredited doctoral program and APA-accredited doctoral internship required;
Previous experience providing direct (i.e. non-simulated) supervision required;
Professional experience and competence working within a multicultural framework required.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous counseling center experience preferred.

Job Description:
Lead Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner
The Lead ARCP provides oversight and coordination of the daily clinical activities of the Respiratory Care staff and is responsible for assuring staff members are technically competent and provide quality services in a safe, effective, and timely manner. The Lead ARCP works with other professionals to coordinate patient care by utilizing best practice and adherence to hospital guidelines. The Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner (A.R.C.P.) has completed the National Board for Respiratory Care, Registry examination (R.R.T.), and is experienced in both routine and advanced critical respiratory care. Practical knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the cardiopulmonary system is required to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients receiving Respiratory Care. The Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner must demonstrate clinical application and theoretical knowledge consistent with the current literature and accepted practice of the profession, in the principles of cardiopulmonary disease and appropriate treatment, over the life span of the patient.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/experience/licensing:
* Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), as recognized by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
* Current State Medical Board of Ohio Respiratory Care Professional license.
* A minimum of one year of clinical experience in an acute care respiratory environment with a bachelor's degree and relief charge experience (minimum) or three years of clinical experience in an acute care respiratory environment with a bachelor's degree and relief charge experience (minimum).
* Previous experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
* Bachelor's degree preferred.
* BLS, ACLS Certification in CPR through the American Heart Association. Will accept American Red Cross BLS, ACLS Certification at time of hire. ACLS certification must be achieved before the probationary period if not present upon hire.
Communication and other skills:
Shall be in good physical and mental health.
Shall be able to work all shifts with some rotation.
