The Hospital: Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1880, Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital is Atlanta's longest-serving hospital. Today, the 410-bed, acute-care facility is recognized as one of the top specialty-referral hospitals in the Southeast. Case Mix: Work the full spectrum of our caseload which includes major vascular, orthopedics, spine, neuro, general surgery, surgical oncology, gynecology, ENT, urology, and endoscopy. No obstetrics, pediatrics, or trauma. Heart and Thoracic Cases (not required): 1200 cardiac procedures per year includes: Complex and routine cardiac. Robotic mitral valve surgery (the world's busiest and most experienced center). Complex aortic reconstruction. Complex valves, CABG (on and off pump), Valve-CABG, Valve repair, LVAD's. Structural heart procedures (MitraClip, TAVR, Watchman, etc.) and full range of electrophysiology procedures (not included in above cardiac case total; 3 rooms daily). ICU Care: PSA provides physician intensivist coverage for the 24-bed ESJH cardiovascular surgery ICU. The Location: Among the nation's fastest-growing metro areas, Atlanta is attracting newcomers from around the country. Job Summary:
Administers anesthesia and sedation to patients under the medical direction of a physician anesthesiologist (“Anesthesiologist”). Responsible for pre-anesthetic evaluation, intraoperative management, and post anesthetic evaluation of surgical patients and patients for other procedures. QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational/Degree and A Hospice Social Worker must at least meet one of the following Training/Licensure: options:
1. Have an MSW degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), and one year of experience in a health care setting.
2. Have a baccalaureate degree in social work (BSW) from a school of social work accredited by the CSWE, and one year of experience in a health care setting and be supervised by a MSW from a school of social work accredited by the CSWE and who has one year of experience in a health care setting. If the BSW is employed by the Hospice before December 2, 2008, he/she is exempted from the MSW supervision requirement.
3. Have a baccalaureate degree in psychology, sociology or other field related to social work, and at least one year of social work experience in a health care setting and be supervised by a SW from a school of social work accredited by the CSWE and who has one year of experience in a health care setting. Hospice must also defer to State law regarding social work requirements. If State requirements are more stringent, Hospice must comply with the State requirements. For example, if the State requires a social worker to have a BSW or an MSW, the Hospice may not employ a person with a baccalaureate degree in psychology, sociology or other field related to social work to work as a Hospice Social Worker. Hospice must employ or contract with at least one MSW to serve in the supervisor role as an active advisor, consulting with the BSW on assessing the needs of patients and families, developing and updating the social work portion of the plan of care and delivering care to patients and families. Supervision may occur in person, over the telephone, through electronic communication or any combination thereof. Hospice will allow time for the supervision to happen on a regular basis and provide documentation as to the nature and scope of supervision. Hospice also ensures that non-social work trained bachelor's prepared employees filling the role of social worker are supervised by a MSW who graduated from a school of social work accredited by the CSWE and who has at least one year of experience in a health care setting. Social workers with a baccalaureate degree from a school of social work accredited by the CSWE and who are employed by Hospice before December 2, 2008, are exempted from the MSW supervision requirement. If Hospice hires a new Social Worker with a baccalaureate degree and one year of experience in a health care setting after December 2, 2008, then the baccalaureate Social Worker must be supervised by an MSW who has one year of experience in a health care setting.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability: Ability to work independently, make accurate, and at times, quick judgments. Ability to respond appropriately to crisis outside of a hospital setting. Acceptance of and adaptability to different social, racial, cultural and religious modes.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a social worker, preferred.
Active patient contact within past three years, preferred.

Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) administers speech therapy to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. This is performed in accordance with physician orders and plan of care under the direction and supervision of the Director of Clinical Services/Nursing Supervisor. Speech therapy services are furnished only by or under the supervision of a qualified speech pathologist or audiologist.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A person who has a master's or doctoral degree in Speech Language Pathology, and is licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist by the state where they furnish services, or
2. A person who has successfully completed 350 clock hours of supervised clinical practicum (or be in the process of completing), at least nine months of supervised full-time SLP experience, and has successfully completed a national approved examination.
3. Currently licensed in the state(s) in which practicing.
4. Two (2) years' experience, preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Improves or maximizes the communication of the patient.
2. Returns the individual to optimum and productive living within the patient's capabilities.
3. Periodically participates with all other home care personnel in patient care planning.
4. Provides full range Speech Language Pathology Services as ordered by physician.
5. Directs and supervises personnel, as assigned.
6. Takes initial history and makes initial evaluation.
7. Performs all skilled procedures.
8. Consults with physicians regarding change of treatment.
9. Writes reports to physicians regarding patient's progress.
10. Instructs patients and family members in home programs.
11. Periodically presents an inservice to the Agency's staff members.
12. An initial evaluation, including plan of treatment and goals, must be completed and submitted to the physician for approval. A recertification by physician every 60 days is necessary if further treatment is to be continued. A progress note is written each visit. A reevaluation is written when expected duration of treatment is reached. A summary is written upon patient's discharge.
13. A supervisory visit is made every fourteen days on each patient seen by a home health aide as assigned.
14. Assists the physician in evaluating level of function.
15. Helps develop the plan of care and revises as necessary.
16. Prepares clinical and progress notes.
17. Advises and consults with the family and other Agency personnel.
18. Participates in inservice programs.
19. Completes and submits OASIS assessments, reassessments, transfers, resumptions of care, discharges and significant change in condition in accordance with Agency defined time frames.
20. Appropriately utilizes ICD-10 codes.
21. Participates in QAPI activities as assigned.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Works indoors in Agency office and patient homes and travels to/from patient homes.

1. Supervised by: Director of Clinical Services/Nursing Supervisor
2. Workers Supervised: Home Health Aide as assigned
