The Associate will be based in Pittsburgh, PA and will work closely with the firm's other investment professionals.
Primary responsibilities include:
Support senior investment professionals in all aspects of actively managing and monitoring a private equity investment portfolio
Assist in the development, execution, and monitoring of company-level value-creation initiatives
Attend and/or participate in monthly and/or quarterly portfolio Board meetings, including interacting directly with management teams and other private equity deal partners
Perform due diligence procedures, including industry and company research across various industry sectors and geographies to support investment decisions

Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business, Economics or Accounting
Minimum of two to three years of relevant work experience; (ideally investment banking, private equity, or other M&A experience)
Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling
Skill in analyzing investment opportunities including a thorough evaluation of all aspects of a company's business plan.
Ability to communicate analytical findings in a clear and concise written manner, as well as oral presentations and informal discussions.

Pay Transparency Details:
Base Salary Range: $85,000 - $125,000
Salaries for this role may vary based on geographic location, market conditions, and individual qualifications, including skills, experience, and education. This position is incentive-eligible, with performance-based bonuses tied to company, business unit, and/or individual results. Incentive opportunities can reach 100% of the base salary, with typical target ranges between 25% to 100%, depending on experience and performance.

Job Description
* Performs analytical and operational activities related to proposed deals and existing investments under the direction of senior staff professionals. Participates in the identification, origination, analysis, closing and monitoring of investment transactions.
* Participates in the marketing effort directed toward sources of investments in support of senior staff as needed. May develop sources and perform sales calls.
* Performs in-depth analyses of prospective new investments including historical/projected financial results, industry research and risk factors. Determines acceptability of potential investments in conjunction with team.
* Evaluates various opportunities for portfolio companies including evaluation of potential acquisitions, analysis of various comparable companies in contemplation of public offering and determination of fair market value of companies contemplating recapitalization and other exit scenario analysis as required.
* Evaluates various existing opportunities for portfolio companies. Participates in the review of legal documentation prior to and following the transaction closing in conjunction with senior staff. Monitors compliance issues after closing. Works with internal finance staff to track portfolio performance, valuation and reporting.

* Provides financial and regulatory reporting and analyses to maintain adequate controls over the financial and regulatory reporting processes. The Liquidity Risk Management team is a part of the Global Treasury Organization at American Express. * Collaborate with model risk and liquidity risk within 2nd line, as well as Internal Audit (3rd line), in execution of key liquidity responsibilities.
* Deliver and facilitate key committee materials and preparation of liquidity documentation.
* Support preparation of Committee agendas, collection and aggregation of materials, and facilitation of review of all Treasury materials, including strategic and risk committees and the Board of Directors.
* Analyze large data sets and summarize key messages for management to help inform the liquidity methodology and modelling capabilities, including supporting analysis of new products and product changes for liquidity impacts.
* Support internal control group reviews and regulatory exams.
* Collaborate with Bank Legal Entity Management teams to provide SME support for LRM at regulated entities.
Minimum Qualifications
* 3-5 years of Finance/Treasury experience.
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
* Data coding knowledge/experience, including but not limited to strong working knowledge of SQL, Python, Power BI, TM1, and Microsoft Office applications.
