We are seeking a dedicated individual to fill our Direct Support Professional position as an hourly employee working M-F day shift.
No Experience necessary, training provided to all staff.
We are currently in need of an experienced and caring Direct Support Professional to help provide services for individuals with special needs. The ideal candidate will have a background in working with individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, severe anxiety and depression, as well as Down syndrome. While the position will include cleaning chores, we're looking for candidates who are willing to go above and beyond by helping individuals with their personal hygiene. This may include assistance with personal hygiene tasks, helping them dress or even running daily errands.
Responsibilities:
Be able to travel to client's home and visit them in the community.
Understand the importance of a support staff that is consistent.
Be able to work with individuals in the community.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Have experience working with individuals with disabilities in a non-business setting.

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are essential members of the Dayspring Homes team, providing care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a Christian environment rooted in dignity, respect, and compassion. DSPs assist individuals with daily living activities, skill development, and community participation, promoting independence, safety, and quality of life. This role ensures each person served is supported in a way that honors their choices and fosters inclusion in all aspects of home and community life.
No Experience? No Problem! We offer fully paid training to empower you at Dayspring and enhance your skills and resume!
Schedule: Alternating Weekly Schedule
Week 1: Friday 10 AM to 10 PM & Saturday and Sunday from 8 AM to 10 PM = 40 hours
Week 2: Monday through Thursday from 1 PM to 11 PM = 40 hours
Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and supervision in alignment with Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).*
Assist with personal care: feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, hygiene.*
Prepare and serve meals consistent with dietary guidelines, allergies, and individual preferences; complete required food safety tasks.*
Promote individual rights, informed choice, and inclusion within the community.*
Support participation in recreational, social, spiritual, vocational, and community activities; provide transportation as assigned.*
Administer medications and health-related tasks per training, physician orders, and agency policy; complete medication documentation accurately.*
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment; perform household chores and laundry.*
Accurately document services, daily notes, incidents, medication administration, behaviors, money management, and community activities.*
Communicate effectively and respectfully with individuals, team members, families/guardians, healthcare providers, and outside partners.*
Promote self-advocacy, informed choice, and skill development; reinforce goals and teach strategies that enhance independence.*
Implement approved behavior strategies; use prevention, redirection, and reinforcement; respond promptly and appropriately to crises.*
Follow emergency procedures (medical, behavioral, environmental); report incidents within required timeframes.*
Maintain confidentiality and protect individual rights and privacy at all times.*
Comply with all agency policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations (e.g., medication administration, incident management, health and safety).*
Attend required orientation, in-service trainings, drills, and staff meetings; maintain all credentials in good standing.*
Operate agency or personal vehicles safely, including wheelchair securement, when assigned driving duties.*
Foster a respectful, inclusive home culture that reflects Dayspring's mission.
Consistently demonstrate reliability, ethical behavior, confidentiality, and adherence to agency standards.
Maintain vigilance in health, safety, and emergency procedures; apply proper lifting, infection control, and medication administration protocols.
