Position Summary
The Department of Orthopaedics at the University at Buffalo is recruiting a full-time AdministrativeAssistant. This position provides support to the Chairman, Faculty, and Executive Team of the Department. This role will require an effective communicator who is detail oriented, responsible, dependable, efficient and very organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize at a high level. Office will be located at our administrative building in Cheektowaga, NY. Travel to all locations will be required.
Job duties will include, but are not limited to:
* Manage faculty timecards for Chair approval.
* Assist with tracking academic performance of faculty for annual review by chair (publications, presentations, invited lectures, book chapters etc.)
* Monthly reports pulled and documented on spreadsheets; faculty attendance, residents case report logs.
* Document Grand Rounds attendance weekly in MedHub.
* Complete Dossiers and submit documents accurately and in a timely manner to Department Chair.
* Update Mobile Med and check for accuracy weekly.
* Manage online CME and update when needed. Verify week prior to ensure both residency and fellowship calendars are accurate. Send CME sign-in sheet to Alicia each week.
* Scheduling/Communication with faculty regarding departmental activities (meetings, annual review with Chair etc.)
* Work with practice plan HR managing all staff and faculty appointments and reappointments affiliated with The Department of Orthopaedics.
* Update ECV's in January, April, July and October. Confirm completion with Chair and Training Program Administrator.
* Provide clerical support, communication emails, mailings, scanning, filing, printing etc. with residency and fellowship interviews, as well as residency graduation activities annually as needed.
* Assumes other responsibilities as requested.

Position Summary

Your responsibilities include:
Employee Life Cycle
* Standardization and streamline office job posting processes.
* Compile all necessary paperwork and documentation needed for routing and approvals.
* Organizing and facilitating office onboarding and offboarding activities; including the creation of templates, resources, and ensuring timely process
* Assist with ensuring promotions and performance and reviews timelines are disseminated and completed with department leadership.
* Assist with department-wide appointments, re-appointment, and termination processes.
* Prepares and maintains all confidential records and files related to faculty/staff matters.
Data Entering & Tracking
* Initiate ePTFs and collaborate with department staff as it relates to its respective funding sources, data entering and tracking completion of processes.
* Tracking and reporting information from various systems.
* Assists with space and facilities tracking and reporting.
* Compile and prepare reports from multiple sources according to a predetermined reporting schedule
Operational Excellence
* Assist in the standardization of department-wide processes and ensuring timely completion of core tasks.
* Assist in creating and maintaining department-wide standard operating procedures.
* Assist with organizing and facilitating department events and activities.
* Provide cross coverage among other office staff assistant positions.
* Identify and address problems or obstacles in system and procedures related to operational.

The Department of Biomedical and Translational Sciences was established in 2026 by a merger of two Departments, Biomedical Sciences and Molecular Medicine. Each of these individual departments were similarly conceived in 1998 as mergers of Anatomy, Physiology, and part of Pathology (BMS) and Pharmacology and Pathology (MolMed). Since that time, both BMS and MolMed have emerged as leading departments at Cornell in terms of animal resources and education, teaching and course development, academic coaching, college and university level administrative leadership, center directorship, federal and non-federal grant funding, basic science research output, and translational/clinical discovery. The new Department of Biomedical and Translational Sciences will continue to advance the mission priorities of Education, Discovery and Care within the College of Veterinary Medicine.
The Department of Biomedical and Translational Sciences is home to over 175 individuals, including faculty, trainees, and staff working together to advance our mission.
BTS faculty lead world-class research programs in several key areas of biomedical and molecular sciences, leveraging cell, organoid, and animal models of veterinary and human disease. The major pillars of research are: (1) Cancer Biology, (2) Reproductive Sciences and Health, (3) Genetics & Genome Function, (4) Comparative Anatomy and Physiology, (5) Biochemistry and Structural Biology, and (6) Cell and Developmental Biology. Other areas of expertise and ongoing/historical interest include molecular neurobiology, metabolism, endocrinology, cardiovascular biology, bone & cartilage biology, and intestinal biology & disease.
BTS has a long history of excellence in teaching. Faculty participate in instruction in one or more of the following ways: (1) DVM foundation courses, (2) DVM distribution courses, (3) School of Continuing Education summer courses, (4) undergraduate curriculum, and (5) graduate student courses and workshops.
The Opportunity
This multifaceted AdministrativeAssistant position supports important areas of the department which, with new funding challenges and a need for diversifying our portfolios, is a critical role. The successful individual will provide support in three main areas:
Grant/Pre-award Support
* Under direction of the departmental Grant and Contract Coordinators work with the Principal Investigator, prepare internal and external proposals (new, resubmissions, renewals), subcontracts, progress reports and supplements for submission to CRO, including all sponsor specific forms, budget and budget justification, review of PI generated documents, maintaining compliance with all regulations and deadlines of both the sponsor and Cornell University.
Educational Support
* Provide high level support to new programs of study administered through Biomedical and Translational Sciences. This area of support covers pre-college, undergraduate and graduate curriculum (not including DVM curriculum) including but not limited to Master of Science programs and School of Continuing Education programs.
* Work closely with College of Veterinary Medicine Office of the University Registrar, the School of Continuing Education, and other individuals involved in coordinating the logistics of the programs' course offerings.
* Manage teaching materials, grading processes, feedback mechanisms.
Departmental Administrative Support
* As assigned, plan events and special research seminars for the community.
* Carry out routine administrative tasks including but not limited to travel reimbursements, visitor planning including itineraries and travel, general support for the department including mail pickup, support for various departmental business operations.

The Department of Biomedical and Translational Sciences was established in 2026 by a merger of two Departments, Biomedical Sciences and Molecular Medicine. Each of these individual departments were similarly conceived in 1998 as mergers of Anatomy, Physiology, and part of Pathology (BMS) and Pharmacology and Pathology (MolMed). Since that time, both BMS and MolMed have emerged as leading departments at Cornell in terms of animal resources and education, teaching and course development, academic coaching, college and university level administrative leadership, center directorship, federal and non-federal grant funding, basic science research output, and translational/clinical discovery. The new Department of Biomedical and Translational Sciences will continue to advance the mission priorities of Education, Discovery and Care within the College of Veterinary Medicine.

The Opportunity
This multifaceted AdministrativeAssistant position supports important areas of the department which, with new funding challenges and a need for diversifying our portfolios, is a critical role. The successful individual will provide support in three main areas:
Grant/Pre-award Support
Under direction of the departmental Grant and Contract Coordinators work with the Principal Investigator, prepare internal and external proposals (new, resubmissions, renewals), subcontracts, progress reports and supplements for submission to CRO, including all sponsor specific forms, budget and budget justification, review of PI generated documents, maintaining compliance with all regulations and deadlines of both the sponsor and Cornell University.
Educational Support
Provide high level support to new programs of study administered through Biomedical and Translational Sciences. This area of support covers pre-college, undergraduate and graduate curriculum (not including DVM curriculum) including but not limited to Master of Science programs and School of Continuing Education programs.
Work closely with College of Veterinary Medicine Office of the University Registrar, the School of Continuing Education, and other individuals involved in coordinating the logistics of the programs' course offerings.
Manage teaching materials, grading processes, feedback mechanisms.
Departmental Administrative Support
As assigned, plan events and special research seminars for the community.
Carry out routine administrative tasks including but not limited to travel reimbursements, visitor planning including itineraries and travel, general support for the department including mail pickup, support for various departmental business operations.

Hours and Location
The core business hours of our office are 8:00AM-5:00PM, Monday through Friday, with flexibility on your start and end times. This position has potential to be performed in a hybrid format of 2 days per week remote, and 3 on campus at the College of Veterinary Medicine. However, in order to ensure mutual success, we'd like for you to be on campus Monday through Friday during the orientation and onboarding period of at least the first 30 days in the role, after which, the hybrid format can be discussed and determined.

The Opportunity
Cornell Law School is seeking a Program Assistant to support the important work of its First Amendment Clinic (FA Clinic), which trains students while defending free expression and press freedoms nationwide. The Clinic performs its work on behalf of community news outlets and journalists as part of its groundbreaking Local Journalism Project.
In this role, you'll be an external-facing ambassador for the clinic's work. You'll coordinate outreach to clients, potential clients and alumni, lead communications and publicity, and support fundraising and grant reporting. Key responsibilities include organizing client trainings and seminars, drafting press releases and marketing content, updating the Clinic's website, and tracking grant deliverables. You'll also provide general administrative support to the Clinic's robust litigation docket.
We're looking for a proactive, self-starter who is a detail-oriented professional with strong communication and organizational skills. Experience in outreach, communications, journalism, legal, or nonprofit/public interest work is a plus. Most of all, we value enthusiasm for the Clinic's critical mission and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse community of students, faculty, clients, and alumni.
