Drinkers began to patronize speakeasies, which were the foundation for the supper club fashion, a trend popular in 1933 after the repeal of Prohibition.

1939

In 1939, The World’s Fair came to Flushing, Queens and featured exhibits from 60 countries, including restaurants serving traditional dishes inside their tents.

1952

In 1952, they decided to redesign the building, adding the distinctive Golden Arches people know and love to this day.

1955

The Restaurant de la Pyramide, in Vienne, regarded by many as the world’s finest restaurant, was founded by Fernand Point and after his death, in 1955, retained its high standing under the direction of his widow, Madame (“Mado”) Point.
