Dean of Men/Women REPORTS TO: Assistant Camp Administrator FLSA CATEGORY: Exempt STATUS TYPE: TFT Seasonal Position: May 24, 2026 - July 16, 2026 (opportunity for extended employment through August 17th) OUTCOMES Deans are responsible for program and counseling leadership within their assigned unit of six to ten counselors, assigned support staff, and approximately 54-135 campers. Deans attend a leadership orientation session, assist in the general staff orientation, provide transportation leadership for campers on arrival and departure dates, give support and guidance for camper and staff discipline when needed. The Deans share the same responsibilities as a Unit Leader with one additional assignment: They are in charge of implementing all rules to all staff members during the summer. The Deans helps coordinate evening programming with Camp Leadership. Deans conduct assessment interviews with their staff, both at mid-season and end of season. They will encourage attendance at staff devotions and attend meetings as scheduled by Camp Leadership. Deans work with aquatics, nature, pioneer, crafts, ropes, archery, health services, and Camp Leadership in guiding staff in complying with camp guidelines (curfews, procedures) goals, and objectives. Head Counselors work closely with the Divisional Youth & Family Outreach Coordinator to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all campers, providing support and guidance of campers and counselors. Participate in cabin inspections and ensure care for camp property. Help clean and sanitize cabins and shared spaces at the end of each camp session. Help with the coordination of daily programming, working with aquatics, nature, pioneer, crafts, ropes, archery, and health services departments. Participate in nightly curfew checks and cabin security. Give supervision to counselors for cabin/property cleanliness and safety. Coordinate cabin access for campers before & after choice time. Coordinate nighttime medication distribution with Health Services Complete incident reports for any accidents or incidents involving campers and staff per policy. Conduct end of session cleaning inspections of camper cabins and staff accommodations. The Health Services Specialist is responsible for overseeing the health, safety, and wellness of all Army Lake Camp participants. This role includes responding to medical emergencies, managing and maintaining accurate medical records for campers and staff, and ensuring compliance with health and cleanliness standards throughout camp. About the role: * Health Center Operations * Manage the Health Center daily * Obtain necessary supplies, checking current inventory to ensure adequate stock. * Prepare and maintain all first aid kits and bloodborne pathogen kits, ensuring proper placement throughout camp (vehicles, cabins, offices, kitchen, maintenance, activity areas, etc.). * Develop and maintain a checklist for kit usage, including incident report forms. * Prepare and distribute lockboxes for staff to securely store medications during camp. * Prepare and append standing medical orders in consultation with a licensed physician; ensure orders are confirmed in writing and followed consistently. * Maintain the Health Center, medical equipment, and inventory; submit work requests to the Camp Director as needed. * * Staff and Camper Support * Conduct Health and Safety orientation for staff in collaboration with the Camp Director. * Get to know other staff members and understand their general responsibilities. * Guide and participate in camper health screenings on registration day. * Distribute confidential reports to staff regarding campers' medical conditions that may affect participation (e.g., asthma, epilepsy). * Advise and assist program staff and campers on health and health education matters. * * Medical Oversight and Recordkeeping * Hold regular office hours and arrange for 24-hour emergency coverage, maintaining communication with the main office. * Distribute medications at meals and other designated times as directed by prescribing physicians. * Maintain all health-related records, including daily logs, medical forms, incident reports, insurance forms, and insurance records. * Keep a bound Health Center book recording date, participant name, reason for visit, treatment, medications, and time administered. * Submit health records to the Camp Director at the end of staff orientation week and at the end of each camp session. * Emergency Response and Communication * Respond to medical emergencies promptly. * Arrange visits to other medical facilities as needed, including pre-arranged clinics, hospitals, and dental care. * Notify Camp Director promptly in the case of head injuries, seizures, fever, vomiting, or any situation requiring medical attention beyond camp staff capabilities. * Advise the Camp Director on all health matters communicated to state health inspectors. * Camp Health & Safety Oversight * Periodically observe all areas of camp for health and safety concerns, report deficiencies to the Camp Director. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Health Center and living quarters. * Collect and restock all cabin first aid kits at the end of the season. * Work with the Camp Director to ensure compliance with all relevant Federal, State, and local rules and regulations, including American Camping Association (ACA) standards for non-program areas. * Maintain a servant's attitude, functioning as an integral member of the camp team. Head Lifeguard/Senior Counselor REPORTS TO: Assistant Director - Programs FLSA CATEGORY: Exempt STATUS TYPE: TFT Seasonal Position: May 24, 2026 - July 16, 2026 (opportunity for extended employment through August 17th) OUTCOMES The Head Lifeguard is to provide leadership and professional knowledge in the waterfront department at Camp. The position is responsible for scheduling and managing the waterfront employees, as well as supervising the safety of all waterfront users. Will provide an aquatic experience for the campers with a Christian message. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Program Administration * Conduct aquatics orientation during general staff training. Work with Camp Leadership in planning this orientation. * Supervise all aquatic activities and set example as head lifeguard. * Provide instruction in swimming, diving, boating and water safety. * Plan water carnivals and inclement weather classes (work with Assistant Director-Programs). * Participate in total camp program. Encourage aquatic staff involvement with assigned units. * Assume other duties as requested by Assistant Director-Programs if weather circumstances prevent ongoing aquatic activities. * Test pool daily and monitor both physical and mechanical equipment. Maintain daily general cleanliness/repair of pool, pool building and equipment. Contact Maintenance Department for mechanical problems. * Maintain daily general cleanliness/repair of boathouse, boat room, docks, beach, pontoon boats, canoes, rowboats, speed boats, fun bugs funyaks, oars, paddles, and related lakefront equipment/area. * Implement work schedules for all Aquatic personnel. * Implement daily/weekly exercise and in-service training for lifeguards. * Assist with maintaining assigned lodging (lights out, doors locked, curfew compliance, cleaning schedule, camp guidelines and prayer time. * Submit evaluation assessments for aquatic staff (mid and end of summer). Other Duties * Participate in leadership training week. * Guide aquatic staff in daily devotions. * Assist with transportation of campers and staff. * Maintain a sense of professionalism in Aquatic areas: self control, service positive attitude, work ethic and sense of ministry. * Complete ARC CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Standard First Aid*. * Maintain a servant attitude, function as part of the ministry leadership team. * Participate in and encourage attendance at staff devotions, outings, and worship services. * All other duties as assigned.
