The Family Case Manager provides case management services to families referred by Coordinated Entry, including multigenerational, LGBTQ, two parents, and blended and single parent families. Identifies the practical, physical and psychosocial needs of each family member.
About the role:
Manages a caseload of families (parents, children, extended family members)
Accompanies families and assists in preparation for court hearings for Children's Court, Municipal, and Milwaukee County.
Attends school meetings, gives input and helps create IEP (Individualized Education Plan).
Coordinates and contacts CPS (Child Protective Services) if needed to investigate abuse and neglect within families.
Assists with reunification plans of families referred from CPS.
Manages the social security income application process for individual adult and child family members by attending court hearings, completing applications and obtaining medical records.
Completes interviews with clients (families), family members, service providers, employers and others to obtain information for formulating program/service eligibility and case status.
Identifies psychosocial, economic and physical needs of family clients; assesses and reassesses client's support systems, available community resources and other factors to plan, develop, and implement an appropriate service plan.
Develops and implements a case plan that presents intervention strategies to meet client needs including alternative placement, job training, socialization, nursing services, legal and medical intervention and financial assistance according to State and federal regulatory guidelines and budget limitations.
Education: Bachelor's in Social Work, Human Services, Sociology, or Psychology.
Experience: Two years case work experience in a social service agency, or fieldwork.
Certifications: Valid Wisconsin Driver's license with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army's insurance carrier. Territorial Casework Certification completion within one year of hire.

OUTCOMES
Deans are responsible for program and counseling leadership within their assigned unit of six to ten counselors, assigned support staff, and approximately 54-135 campers. Deans attend a leadership orientation session, assist in the general staff orientation, provide transportation leadership for campers on arrival and departure dates, give support and guidance for camper and staff discipline when needed. The Deans share the same responsibilities as a Unit Leader with one additional assignment: They are in charge of implementing all rules to all staff members during the summer.
The Deans helps coordinate evening programming with Camp Leadership. Deans conduct assessment interviews with their staff, both at mid-season and end of season. They will encourage attendance at staff devotions and attend meetings as scheduled by Camp Leadership. Deans work with aquatics, nature, pioneer, crafts, ropes, archery, health services, and Camp Leadership in guiding staff in complying with camp guidelines (curfews, procedures) goals, and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Program Administration
Attend Program planning sessions and leadership training week.
Provide leadership as a Unit Leader to Counselors, Assistant Counselors, and campers per session within own unit.
Responsibility of supervising all staff including Unit Leaders, Lifeguards, CNA's, Activity Leaders, Counselors, and campers of same sex.
Assist with orientation of new staff members.
Assist with coordination of daily programming and worship services.
Monitor daily time off for counselors.
Share in counselor's responsibilities for campers.
Distribute evaluation forms to counselors for each camper and complete processing for submission to Program Manager.
Submit evaluation assessments from interviews with all staff including Unit Leaders, Activity Leaders, your Unit Counselors, and Assistant Counselors.
Attend all staff meetings as called by Camp Leadership.
Attend to pre-camp preparation of Program: office, equipment, recreation areas, and lodgings.
Maintain Program buildings and property; turn in work requests to Program Manager.
Supervise the maintaining of camp, (lights out, doors locked, curfew compliance and camp guidelines) to all staff members during camp sessions and days off.
Assist Camp Leadership in conducting evening staff devotions on a regular basis.
Supervise staff lounge area and living area for cleanliness and appropriate behavior.
Provide assistance to counselors in evening cabin devotions.
Assist in preparation and implementation of evening programs.
Complete accident reports for any accidents involving campers and staff.
Partake in nightly curfew checks and cabin lockdown.

Provide support and guidance for discipline of all summer staff members.
Give supervision to counselors for cabin/property cleanliness and safety.
Camper Interactions
Assist with camper check-in at bus sites and continue to monitor camper and staff health needs daily.

Program Administration

* Provide instruction in swimming, diving, boating and water safety.
* Plan water carnivals and inclement weather classes (work with Assistant Director-Programs).
* Participate in total camp program. Encourage aquatic staff involvement with assigned units.

* Test pool daily and monitor both physical and mechanical equipment. Maintain daily general cleanliness/repair of pool, pool building and equipment. Contact Maintenance Department for mechanical problems.
* Maintain daily general cleanliness/repair of boathouse, boat room, docks, beach, pontoon boats, canoes, rowboats, speed boats, fun bugs funyaks, oars, paddles, and related lakefront equipment/area.
* Implement work schedules for all Aquatic personnel.
* Implement daily/weekly exercise and in-service training for lifeguards.
* Assist with maintaining assigned lodging (lights out, doors locked, curfew compliance, cleaning schedule, camp guidelines and prayer time.

* In order to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to use pool or water equipment.
* The work environment for this position includes an office and outdoor/pool environment with a low to high noise level.
