    Schedule/Hours: Part-time Under the general supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Worker is responsible for the receipt, storage, and distribution of donations given to The Salvation Army during the Christmas season. The Warehouse Worker will assist with loading, unloading, and sorting donations; moving donations and other materials into the warehouse; assist in the set up, clean up and break down of the warehouse. He/she may also act in the capacity of a Truck Driver as needed. Key Responsibilities: Receive, store, and distribute donations. Provide good oral communication with vendors, volunteers, staff, and management. Gives general supervision to volunteers, as needed. Daily loading and unloading and placement of donated items into the warehouse. Keeping the warehouse clean. Ensure items are efficiently stored. Safe operation of The Salvation Army vehicles while picking up and delivering donations/goods. Ability to successfully interface with the public and Salvation Army donors in a variety of settings. Assist with can food drives, coat drives, toy drives and moving operations. Follow The Salvation Army policies and procedures at all times. Perform other tasks as assigned by management. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies and equipment. Required to grasp objects, push and pull objects, bend, stand, walk, squat or kneel. Moderate to high mobility; duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing and walking on a frequent change basis. The working environment is a warehouse with a cement floor where a majority of the day is spent. Temperatures in the warehouse and dock area may, at times, be very cold, depending on the varying weather and temperatures during the season. Temperatures vary from approximately 30 degrees to below 0 in the winter. Position involves going in and out of the warehouse space into the cold throughout the day.
