The pros of working at the Salvation Army is to be apart of an established organization with a mission to serve others in the community without discrimination
Many of the employees do not know that discrimination against employees is a problem.
benefits based on favoritism. PT employees are not appreciated for their contributions.
Set hours so you know your schedule
LOW pay, having to deal with the customers who have mental heath issues when shopping at the retail locations, having to deal with incompetent district management, I can't say this enought but the employees are EXTREMELY under appreciated, never given raises
I work in donation so I get to run around all day and meet lots of people and help them while they donate so it's never boring.
Meeting nice people, nice coworkers, discount on items
Making minimum, mgmt never happy with workers , workers get freaked out whenever mgmt comes in afraid they always find something wrong, one mgmt person makes people cry, high stress to get store in order, few workers doing what 20 employees did in the past, dirty floors, no maintenance or cleaning crew, no air conditioning, ceiling tiles missing and ignored
Discount on products
Treated as a person

The people I work with
Its not too hard of a job. People who come are nice and I'm always happy to help them.
The neighborhood is bad and makes me feel unsafe.
I have no benefits here.
The people were very nice, i liked the staff and the company, it was a nice environment to work in.
I did not get a lot of learning experience while working there.
I liked getting the health benefits from the company, that helped me get some money besides working only.
I loved it, I worked at a summer camp for two years in a row.
There isn't anything I did not like about it.
Motivating the children there to make a good decision, no matter what they are surrounded by or who.
Helping other people
Did not care about their employees
Ability to make my own schedule
The Kroc Center is alway willing to work with the group instructors.. hours .. time.. routines..
free gym membership
The work is satisfying.
Lack of in management positions, lack of equality in pay, and nepotisim.
Flexible hours
Customers are generally nice.
Can get fired easily. No unemployment benefits
Accrued sick time and vacation time
The children I work with.
The lack of structure
Being able to start different programs such as book club.
it was all about helping homeless women and children
nothing
just meeting new people everyday
I was able to assist and supervise in a field that meant so much to me (youth). As a member of the church, a volunteer, and a salvation army worker, I genuinely experienced the art of hard work! The people were amazing and I was given so much joy doing what I loved.
I didn’t enjoy the lack of communication, organization, and foundation of some of the programs.
My favorite benefit was being able to wake up every morning and do what I love which is working with children and assisting in that field as much as I was able too!!
Interacting with different people that are genuine and very helpful.
