Ivan is executive vice president and general counsel, with overall leadership responsibility for the Company’s global Legal function and activities, a position he has held since July 2013. Previously, Ivan served as assistant general counsel and vice president. In this role, he provided valuable counsel and direction to the Company’s legal efforts for the Global Consumer segment. Ivan joined ScottsMiracle-Gro in 2003 as associate general counsel and director of litigation and since then has held positions of increasing responsibility. Prior to joining Scotts, he was a litigator with the international law firm Jones Day. Ivan received a bachelor’s degree from Miami University and received his Juris Doctorate degree from The Ohio State University. Ivan enjoys the outdoors with his wife, daughter and son and plans to check off a ‘bucket list’ item by doing the rim-to-rim hike the Grand Canyon in the next few years.

Denise was named executive vice president in February 2003. She is responsible for worldwide Human Resources strategy and execution, including building leadership and organizational capability, ensuring HR operational excellence, and creating a diverse and highly-engaged workforce. She is also accountable for leading all internal communication activities. Since joining the Company in September 2000, she has served as vice president, Technology & Operations; vice president, Human Resources, North America; and senior vice president, Human Resources Worldwide. Prior to joining ScottsMiracle-Gro, Denise was director, Human Resources, with the Ross Products Division of Abbott Laboratories. Denise is a member of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation Board of Directors and the Farms For City Kids Board of Directors. She received a bachelor’s degree in business and organizational communications from The Ohio State University. Among Denise’s favorite memories working at ScottsMiracle-Gro is the creation of the company’s pioneering Live TotalHealth program in 2006, with comprehensive benefits for associates’ personal, physical and financial health.

Jim was named chairman of the Board of Directors in January 2003 and chief executive officer in May 2001. He served as president from May 2001 to December 2005 and from November 2006 to October 2008. Jim was named senior vice president, Consumer Gardens Group, in 1995, the year Scotts merged with Stern’s Miracle-Gro Products, Inc. At Miracle-Gro, Jim had served as executive vice president and was a major architect of Miracle-Gro’s success both in the U.S. and in the UK. He was instrumental in the effective integration of the two businesses and served as head of the Company’s North America business. He is a graduate of The Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program and holds a degree in aeronautical science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, where he is a member of the Board of Trustees. Jim is member of the board of trustees at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. In addition, he is associate trustee of the North Shore Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y.; chairman of the board for the Farms for City Kids Foundation, Inc. in Reading, Vt.; board member for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Foundation; and trustee at the Intrepid Foundation. Jim also served as co-chairman of the National Fund for the U.S. Botanic Garden in Washington, D.C. Jim served in the United States Air Force for seven years, where he was a captain and an accomplished F-16 fighter pilot.
