Principal Duties/Responsibilities: · Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers; inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding; nails covers on wooden crates and/or binds containers; affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons; posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage. · Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. · Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages; examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. · Gathers and delivers mail; routes items to departments. · Receives and logs items into computer system. · Maintains a clean working area. · Tracks inventory and maintains an accurate physical inventory by logging all transactions into the software system; tracks all packages not received or not logged into the system daily; tracks all packing slips and files daily. · Controls costs through recycling and other activities. · Tracks and locates package for customer. · May deliver packages on emergency basis; scan parts and prepares for the cleaning room; place parts in bins and pulls when ready for repair as needed; operate tier-lift truck or use handtruck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area; direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments. · May be required to train entry level employees. · Participates in ATS Culture Initiative; continually improves processes; quantitatively monitors processes. We are looking for a Warehouse Team Member to join our team of employee-owners at our McHenry location! This is a full-time position, with $18.91/hour starting pay, a 40-hour workweek Monday-Friday, first-shift only. There are no night or weekend shifts and employees get major national holidays off and paid. This position is the initial and primary point of contact for drivers arriving at the facility to pick up outbound loads or make deliveries. The Shipping and Receiving Specialist logs all drivers into the facility, directs them to the appropriate dock for loading/unloading, monitors all incoming and outgoing shipping activities, including paperwork, and records outgoing shipments and examines shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules. The Standard hours of operation are Monday- Friday 40 hours a week with occasional overtime and weekend work, no travel is required for this position. Duties and Responsibilities: * Verify and enter the pallets, charges, carrier, trailer numbers and appropriate BOL notes on the delivery or shipment. * Finalize all orders to prepare for billing: advise of flatbed freight cost; create BOL; prepare paperwork for physical pulling and loading of order. * Maintain inbound and outbound truck log daily. * Check in drivers and direct them to the appropriate loading/unloading location. * Prepare and distribute shipping paperwork to drivers. * Communicate with customers to confirm shipment of material. * Trace shipments as needed. * Provide up-to-date shipment information. * Secure proof of delivery if there is a dispute over shortage, damage, or delay. * Notify customer service of backorders or changes to shipments. Additions, changes, and deletions on allocated shipping orders to be performed routinely. Resolve any delivery issues. * Prepare shipping documents (shipping order, shipping labels, packing list and BOL) for distribution to loaders or shipping clerks. * Ensure all deliveries are posted daily in SAP. * Full understanding of the Loader position in case of need to cover. * Other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Outstanding relationship skills and verbal/written communication skills are key to success in this position when dealing with salespeople, customer service, vendors, drivers, customers, and facility leadership. * Knowledge of warehouse layout, product codes, and lot numbers. Understanding of production schedules. * Complete understanding of shipping orders. * Has the skill and ability to stay focused on priorities in an environment of constant interruptions. * Previous experience with ERP systems (such as SAP) is preferred. * Outstanding verbal, written, interpersonal, problem solving, phone, and time management skills. * Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word. Job Description: Receiving & Putaway Specialist The Receiving & Putaway Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and efficient flow of inbound products into the distribution center. This role oversees the unloading, verification, and documentation of incoming shipments, and organizes inventory into designated storage locations following company standards. The Specialist works closely with warehouse leads and operations management to maintain accuracy, efficiency, and a clean, safe work environment. Key Responsibilities Inbound Receiving Unload inbound shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment. Verify incoming products against purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading. Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues promptly. Accurately document receipt of goods in ERP/WMS systems. Putaway & Inventory Management Transport and store received goods in assigned warehouse locations following safety and efficiency protocols. Ensure product is placed in correct bin locations, racks, or shelves to maintain inventory accuracy. Rotate stock and apply FIFO (First In, First Out) principles. Maintain clear labeling and organization of warehouse storage areas. Quality & Compliance Adhere to all safety procedures, including PPE usage and equipment operation guidelines. Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory audits. Support compliance with company SOPs, OSHA, and DOT requirements.
