Since 1948, we've added 47 locations and expanded to 10 additional cities across SE Michigan.
Founded in 1948 by Richard Fischer, Suburban Collection is now the largest dealership group in Michigan and is the 18th-largest dealership group in the nation, according to Automotive News.
David Fischer Sr., 68, oversaw much of the growth after he began running the company in 1979.
In 2009, working with the College for Creative Studies (CCS), Fischer chaired the Capital Campaign Committee supporting the renovation of the historic Argonaut Building into the A. Alfred Taubman Center for Design Education as part of the CCS campus.
Suburban Collection acquired six auto dealerships and was awarded three new franchises in 2014.
