Pros of working at The Tampa Tribune

Now retired after 35 years in newspapers, I worked at The Tampa Tribune for 23 of them. It was always a better paper than it should have been. It was conservative leaning in a conservative market. It gave it's liberal competition hell. My time was in the heyday of newspaper presentation and the dawn of competer graphics. News graphics were strong and insightful and color exploded in print. I think it was said that our subscibers outnumbered the literacy rate in our circulation area.

Cons of working at The Tampa Tribune

It was unnecessarily dog-eat-dog in the newsroom.

The Tampa Tribune benefits

I could pretty much invent my day.
