This is a Part Time or Full Time position - NO Night Coverage, NO weekends 9 am - 7pm M-F 20 - 40 hours a week Toledo Hospital, Flower Hospital and St. Anne's Hospital. Educate and advise patients, diagnose and treat health problems, and provide general health care under the direction of the physician.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Obtain medical histories.2. Diagnose and treat health care and chronic diseases.3. Order and interpret diagnostic studies such as labs and x-rays.4. Prescribes medications and other treatments.5. Promotes positive health behaviors and self-care skills through education and counseling.6. Collaborate with physicians as needed.7. Emphasizes wellness and self-care to patients and family members.8. Researches medical findings and studies and incorporates as appropriate.9. Selects cost-effective and appropriate diagnostic fees.10. Other duties as assigned.
Performance/Experience Requirements: Knowledge of nursepractitioner theory, practice and medical care, medical equipment and instruments, and OSHA regulations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to analyze and determine solutions in order to best serve the patients. Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame. Adheres to all Clinic policies and procedures. Education: Masters degree from an accredited school. Certified as a nursepractitioner and CPR required.

The physician in this position will be responsible for working collaboratively with other physicians and care team members to provide the highest standard of comprehensive medical care in a patient-centered, compassionate environment. The OB GYN Hospitalist will provide coverage for the labor and delivery unit which will include high-risk obstetrical patients and midwifery back up. The candidate will collaborate with midwives, residents, medical students and Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists. In addition, they will provide consultation for GYN patients in the Emergency Room and perform urgent surgical procedures.
Candidate will cover 12-13 (12 hour) shifts per month. Our highly integrated and supportive obstetric team consists of Hospitalist/Laborist, OB/GYN Hospitalists, OB/GYN Generalists, Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists, Certified Nurse Midwives, NursePractitioners, and Residents. The Hospitalist/Laborist role involves managing the obstetric unit, participating in labor management, obstetric triage and support of maternal fetal medicine service. The Hospitalist/Laborist also provides support and consultation to midwifery and Family Medicine services.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General (CCAG) is seeking an Ob/Gyn Hospitalist for our New Life Center. The CCAG New Life Center at CCAG is a Level 3 Perinatal Center and performs approximately 1800 deliveries per year. Candidates should be board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology with clinical experience to support the full scope of hospital based obstetrical and acute gynecologic care. This person shall exercise leadership and direction in all appropriate patient care, professional, and academic activities related to the delivery of medical care.
The Ob/Gyn Hospitalist and Teaching Faculty of the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center is responsible for the overall supervision of care in the Obstetric Emergency Department, Labor and Delivery, and perinatal safety throughout the hospital as Ob/Gyn providers. The hospitalist will respond to and assist in Ob/Gyn emergencies throughout CCAG. The hospitalist will assume primary responsibility of admissions from Women's Health Clinic service (resident clinic) as well as unregistered or walk-in patients. The hospitalist will support all established obstetrical practices with care of their inpatients and provide emergency care until a patient's private attending physician is present at the bedside. They also will work in conjunction with the Maternal Fetal Medicine service to evaluate and manage hospital transfers and provide backup as needed for family medicine services. The hospitalists will also provides OB/GYN consultations throughout the hospital.
The position balances clinical and academic responsibilities, including supervision of OB/GYN residents and medical students. Faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience is available at the Northeastern Ohio Medical University.
The typical Ob/Gyn Hospitalists will be on duty 36-48 hours per week, comprised of 12 to 24 hour shifts to provide continuous coverage with other providers. Flexible employment options will be considered, ie. nocturnist, part-time. Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and National Data for OB/GYN Hospitalists.
