Avrohom J. (“A.J.”) Kess is Vice Chairman and Chief Legal Officer for Travelers. He is responsible for Legal Services, including Government Relations, as well as Corporate Communications, Public Policy and the Travelers Institute. Kess joined the company in December 2016 from the law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where he was a Partner, a member of the Corporate Department and Head of the Public Company Advisory Practice. He also served as Travelers’ lead outside counsel, advising the company on a wide range of general corporate, transactional, securities laws and governance matters. Kess was a special counsel to The Conference Board Commission on Public Trust and Private Enterprise. He is a frequent speaker and an author on corporate governance topics. Kess received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Brooklyn College and his J.D. from New York University.

Andy Bessette is Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for Travelers. He has responsibility for Corporate Real Estate, Administrative Services, Community Relations, Aviation, Internal Investigations, Event Management, Business Continuity and Sports Sponsorships, including the company's official marketing partnership with the PGA TOUR and title sponsorship of the Travelers Championship. Bessette is a member of the University of Connecticut’s Board of Trustees and of the Board of Directors of the University of Connecticut Health Center. He is Vice Chairman of the Capital Region Development Authority and a member of the Board of Governors for Hartford Hospital. Bessette holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree from the University of Rhode Island.

Bill Heyman is Vice Chairman and Chief Investment Officer for Travelers, a position he has held since May 2005. He was Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at Travelers and The St. Paul Companies, which he joined in May 2002 from Citigroup, where he was Chairman of Citigroup Investments. He was previously a Managing Director of Salomon Brothers and Director of Market Regulation at the Securities and Exchange Commission. Heyman graduated from Princeton University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and Harvard Law School. He is Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Financial Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and a member of the Investors Advisory Committee on Financial Markets of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and of the Council on Foreign Relations. Heyman was appointed by President George W. Bush in 2007 as a director of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC), where he served for four years.
