The MS in Applied Data Science program (MS-ADS) is a professional graduate program within the Data Science Institute (DSI) and Physical Sciences Division (PSD) at the University of Chicago. The DSI executes the University of Chicago's bold, innovative vision of Data Science as an evolving discipline; the PSD explores new frontiers in the physical and mathematical sciences to lead the world in inquiry and impact. The purpose of MS-ADS is to advance the careers of diverse students for technical- and/or management-focused careers in data science and AI. Students may apply for full- or part-time admissions for the In-Person Program, Online Program, or a Joint Degree program. Admitted students benefit from a dedicated, full-service team in support of robust student and alumni outcomes. The MS-ADS program is located at the university's NBC Tower space in downtown Chicago, IL.
Job Summary
The AssistantDirector of Enrollment Management will join a mid-sized team of professional staff and full- and part-time faculty who serve the MS in Applied Data Science (MS-ADS) program within the University of Chicago's Physical Sciences Division (PSD) and Data Science Institute (DSI). The new hire will work closely with program leadership to provide critical support for daily operations and strategy for a growth-oriented master's program in data science/AI. The hire will work with minimal guidance to recruit, yield, and manage backend systems in support annual enrollment targets. The new hire will also support senior leaders' annual marketing, advertising, and communications strategy. The AssistantDirector will have the opportunity to impact how master's programs are shaping the evolving, growing field of data science and AI including but not limited to potential support of any new program offerings or degree programs with the DSI.
MS-ADS currently offers full- and part-time in-person, online, and joint degree, options. The AssistantDirector reports to the MS-ADS Director of Enrollment Management and Analytics and will work with central University offices including but not limited to the Registrar's Office, the Office of International Affairs (OIA), the central Slate team, among other departments as required. This position is eligible for a partially remote work schedule. Some travel is required.
Responsibilities
Leads the recruitment and evaluation of applicants for admission by reading applications and summarizing evaluations; completes these tasks independently with limited guidance and instruction from others.
Designs plans to increase brand awareness as it relates to the program's relevant prospective student populations.
Leads special projects such as providing strategic input on marketing materials for review by senior program leadership.
Develops relationships with institutions regionally and nationally, per program recruitment strategy, with a focus on program growth and new program development.
In partnership with program leadership, establishes recruitment goals; monitors and reports on progress.
Analyzes prospect and student data to identify prospect profile segments. Works closely with marketing team to develop strategies and communicates to reach and engage prospective students.
Benchmarks and monitors competitive programs to understand recruitment best practices; proactively shares those with the MS in Applied Data Science team.
Manages event programming such as receptions and admissions events for students. Works independently to expand outreach to employers in the region.
Delivers public presentations at information sessions or other special events led by the enrollment management team.
Cultivates strategic relationships with individuals involved in the recruitment process, including but not limited to prospective students and new employer partners.
Acts as a liaison between program staff and prospective students.
Plans and attends yield events, information sessions, and graduate fairs.
Guides prospects through the funnel, from inquiry to enrollment.
Provides support for student matriculation, participating in student onboarding in coordination with the Student Services team.

Job Summary
The AssistantDirector (AD) of Partnerships will be responsible for developing and assisting in the management of a portfolio of partners for the Chicago Quantum Exchange (CQE). The AD will assist in cultivating and maintaining strategic partnerships for the CQE and assist in operational planning and execution for various activities related to engagement with industry, non-profit, and other partners, including the development of processes for tracking and streamlining partner engagements.
Responsibilities
Serves as liaison for multiple CQE partners, interfacing with partners as well as researchers and other stakeholders from CQE member and partner institutions to facilitate engagements around joint projects, sponsored research, talent recruitment and the like.
Manages standardized administrative and contractual processes for streamlining collaborative agreements, projects, and other such partner engagements, by interfacing with appropriate business and legal representatives from current and future CQE members and partner institutions.
Manages and helps develop streamlined protocols for collaborative projects, and strategic initiatives with current and prospective partners.
Uses best practices and a moderate/high level of knowledge of business software tools to create and maintain reports, leveraging and maintaining multiple databases.
Organizes engagement opportunities between CQE and partners, including virtual and in-person meetings, and workshops. Plans, organizes, and oversees logistics for meetings, workshops, or other engagements. Helps develop background materials, briefings, summaries, and follow-up action items.

Helps in developing proposals and raising gifts from corporate donors for all restricted corporate gifts, including identification of opportunities, composing solicitation letters, communication with the prospects, and supervision of the gift acknowledgment process.

Requirements and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is an experienced educator/artist with extensive administrative experience and management skills and a passion for working with teenagers. Experience in film production is a plus but not required.

* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Arts Education, Education or Arts Administration, preferably Master's degree, or equivalent professional experience
Experience:

The role provides individualized coaching, resource navigation, and consistent communication to connect students with the services and referrals they need to thrive. Within the Beacon Scholars Program, the AssistantDirector manages a caseload of 60 Scholars, supervises a Graduate Assistant, assesses outcomes grounded in research, and assists with event planning. The role also leads the Work the Room professional development program in partnership with Northwestern Career Advancement and Alumni Relations and Development. This program leads quarter professional development programs including the Suit Up event with JC Penney and the annual Etiquette Dinner.

* Supervises the scheduling and work of the Counseling staff. * Compiles and maintains term, monthly, and yearly contact reports, using trend analyses to inform counseling strategy, staff coverage, communication timing, and targeted outreach efforts; collaborates with senior leadership to adjust operations and engagement strategies based on reporting data
* Directly supervises two front-line advisors and one counselor; monitors the flow of customer service and assists front-line advising staff in their efforts. Ensures that the service needs of students and families are met and facilitates the escalation of conversations to others in the office.
* Analyze complex financial aid applications for approximately 300 to 400 undergraduate students; determine aid eligibility under the terms of both federal and institutional methodology by following federal and state regulations and interpreting University guidelines; formulate financial aid packages to meet student need, as well as recruit and retain a diverse student body. Must exercise discretion in determining when it might be appropriate to invoke authority to use professional, independent judgment to deviate from federal methodology on a case-by-case basis. The AssistantDirector is responsible for candidate communications, interview logistics, resume screening and sharing with hiring managers, and maintaining a positive experience for both candidates and hiring managers.
Responsibilities
Provides support to the talent management process through collaborative partnering with management to recognize the specific talent acquisition need.
Collaborates with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and developing recruitment plans.
Screens resumes; interviews applicants; assists in panel debriefs, makes salary recommendations and performs onboarding activities. Collaborates with HR Partners and hiring managers to ensure the seamless execution of recruiting processes.
Develops and refines recruitment strategies to enhance applicant pipelines and overall applicant quality. Screens resumes; interviews applicants; assists in panel debriefs, makes salary recommendations and performs onboarding activities.
Identifies and implements process enhancements to improve efficiency and candidate experience.
Supports employer branding efforts through job ads, social media, and candidate outreach.
Generates reports and metrics related to recruitment activity and pipeline management. Tracks and analyzes recruitment metrics to assess effectiveness.
Ensures compliance with HR policies and hiring regulations; maintains accurate recruitment records.
Communicates professionally and promptly with candidates regarding interview details, next steps, and outcomes.
Posts open positions on external job boards, ensuring accuracy and visibility.
Coordinates and schedules interviews between candidates and hiring teams, including virtual and in-person logistics.
Assists in non-recruiting activities throughout the year to help support various HR processes and programs.
Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Supports staff hiring processes, including developing job descriptions, interviewing and reference checking, handling employment offers, and conducting orientation. Drafts templates and routine offer letters. Maintains appropriate human resources data and records, solving a range of straightforward problems using standard procedures.
Counsels employees on benefits and compensation. Coordinates with managers and senior colleagues to determine employee compensation. Analyzes data and prepares charts, graphs, and trend lines for management review with a moderate level of guidance.
Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

A minimum of two years of experience in human resources and/or specific recruitment experience.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
Proficient with Workday or other applicant tracking systems.
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
