    Radiology Technologist, Full-Time Nights As a Radiology Technologist, you will perform diagnostic imaging studies as assigned, utilize appropriate principles of radiation protection, exercise professional judgement in the performance of imaging procedures and be responsible for providing care of patients in your charge. Essential Job Functions: Reviews physician's order to assure appropriateness of examination being requested. Selects appropriate exposure factors based on body part, pathology, patient's age and technical equipment characteristics. Reviews images for proper positioning, technique and identification. Performs a variety of general diagnostic studies with efficiency and high standards of quality, assures that the proper protocol is used for any given examination and evaluates images for diagnostic quality prior to submitting for interpretation. Prepares contrast media for administration to patients and assists physician in the performance of GI/GU studies. Interfaces with customers, patients and their family members, medical staff and visitors in a friendly, professional manner. Demonstrates consistent use of the AIDET principles and demonstrates flexibility in accommodating special needs of customers whenever possible. Required Qualifications: Associates degree in a related medical field of study or equivalent experience Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic technology training in an AMA approved program Certified by The American Registry of Radiological Technologists Licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Demonstrates proficiency in performing diagnostic imaging Functions proficiently with all technical equipment in diagnostic modality Demonstrates excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Good decision-making and judgment skills Maintain required continuing education as mandated by The American Registry of Radiological Technologists Considerable knowledge of standard office practices and procedures along with knowledge of computers and software programs specific to the UCMC and the radiology department CPR certification Position Details Job Type/FTE: Full-Time 0.9 FTE Shift: Nights Unit/Department: Gen Procedures CBA Code: Non-Union No Visa Sponsorship Available #UCMImaging! Recruiting and Strategic Planning: * Participates in open-house programs for individuals interested in the PA program. * Meets with individuals to discuss the process of applying in the program and the necessary requirements to be admitted. * Reviews and interviews applicants to the program; selects applicants for admission to the medical program. * Meets with applicants not selected to advise and counsel for future admission. * Develops, reviews, and revises as necessary the mission statement for the program. * Evaluates the program and participates in action plans and timelines for implementation of changes, reevaluating changes and ongoing analysis. * Develops new or additional clinical and didactic year preceptor sites as necessary. * Attends departmental meetings, interdepartmental meetings, College-wide meetings, city-wide meetings, course preparation, and other professional duties. * Adheres to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards. * Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's Degree (Master's Preferred) in Public Health, Social Work, Community Psychology, or Social Science Degree with a focus on Community Health. * At Least 2 Years of experience working in capacity Building and Partnership Development * Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the state of IL. * Clinical practice that includes experience as a site coordinator of clinical * Clinical instructor (CI) in Radiology therapy is preferred. * Knowledge of program accreditation standards and regulatory compliance * Above average verbal and written communication required. Ability to communicate complicated information to varied audiences. Must conduct interactions in a polite and courteous manner. * Ability to maintain confidential information on the program and student records. * Proficiency in various software programs including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and database management. * Must be self-directed and able to prioritize work.
