Independently provides general systems consulting, systems analysis, and overall leadership related to the acquisition and use of computing systems in assigned areas.
Applies in-depth knowledge of applications to ensure effective and optimal use of current applications, incorporation of refinements in applications based on organization changes or process improvements, and collaboration with senior analysts to identify and select new system solutions.
Manages all phases of large and small projects. Accountable for the success of projects, repairs, process improvements, and overall benefits realization.
Functions as a key point of user contact and customer service for Information Services and is accountable for user satisfaction. Develops departmental policies and procedures, and educates individuals in and outside the IS department as it relates to information systems and services.
Works with senior management to develop long-range plans and organizational policies.
Selects, trains/orients, and supervises departmental personnel. Responsible for work assignments and daily operations.
Evaluates performance and recommends promotions and disciplinary actions.
Assists in the preparation of clinic budgets and allocations of funds.
Collects and analyzes data for monthly and annual reports. Prepares analytical reports and makes recommendations to management.
Ensures compliance with regulations and standards of performance for quality care. Ensures that the organization's goals, philosophies, and objectives are optimally supported by information technology.
Ensures that patients are treated in a prompt and courteous manner by staff. Informs patients of appointment delays and provides and provides appropriate patient referral information.
Ensures that communications staffs handle calls appropriately. Maintains a system for emergency assistance.
Ensures that medical records are complete, accurate, secure and readily available. Ensures timely and accurate filing of medical documents in patient charts.
Ensures that medical dictation transcription is handled quickly and accurately.
Participates actively in clinic patient complaint procedures to resolve operational problems.
Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
Participates in professional development efforts to keep current on health care trends and practices.
Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
High School Graduate
3 or more years of medical support services experience including 2 years in a health care organization. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for two years of support services experience.

Post graduate work in medical records and communications practices.
Medical experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Knowledge Requirements

Assist with Electroencephalograph monitoring of patients as requested. Inclusive of electrode replacement, troubleshoot loose electrode connections, assign equipment and appropriately label and tag the data collection to match the medical record.
Assure the brain waveforms recording are free of artifacts and the equipment software is programmed with precision for the assigned patient.
Report all observed patient concerns and changes in condition to nurses and/or EEG technicians.
Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of equipment, bed rail pads and restock supplies as needed
Perform ambulation, hyperventilation and photic stimulation to trigger neurologic response on designated EEG monitoring patients.
At the conclusion of data collection, disconnect patients from the electrode, clean and remove equipment and bed rail pads from patient room.
Assure that the patients are within view of camera(s) at all times
Ensures that all interventions and/or patient interactions are appropriately documented in the patient's medical record.
Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

About University of Kansas Cancer Center:
The University of Kansas Cancer Center is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and plans are underway to construct a new $550 million state-of-the-art new cancer center building. The Department of Radiation Oncology provides cancer care services throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area with over 4,500 treatment courses annually and 300 patients on treatment daily. Our primary network includes 7 locations with 11 Varian linear accelerators including TrueBeam, Edge and Ethos. The Department has recently completed a Varian ARIA/Eclipse v18.0 upgrade, the first in the US, and maintains a close relationship with Varian, IBA, and other equipment vendors providing unique opportunities for collaboration. The Department of Radiation Oncology is one of a dozen ABS fellowship training sites for both HDR and LDR brachytherapy for prostate and gynecological cancer. The University of Kansas Proton Center is equipped with a state-of-the-art IBA ProteusONE compact proton therapy system, a RayStation v2023B treatment planning system, and an SDX respiratory gating system that are integrated within Varian's ARIA V18.0, the first ProteusONE center doing so in the world. The system is LATTICE, FLASH, and minibeam capable. Since our proton center opened in May 2022, we have successfully treated more than six hundred patients. The Proton Center is a founding member of the Conformal Flash Alliance and there is an ongoing research agreement with IBA for its preclinical validation and clinical implementation.

The Division of Medical Physics is staffed at 20 faculty medical physicists, 19 medical dosimetrists, 6 medical physics residents and 1 department-funded research fellow; the division supports a full range of clinical, research, and educational services. Required Education and Experience
Associate Degree Nursing
2 or more years RN critical care or Emergency Room experience with The University of Kansas Health System.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor Degree Nursing
5 or more years RN critical care or Emergency Room experience.
Required Licensure and Certification
Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing Registered Nurse in the State of Kansas
Knowledge Requirements
Basic skills in Microsoft Office Applications such as Word and Excel.
