As a mental health counselor, you will manage an active caseload of students with counseling needs and documented disabilities. You will provide students with community referrals, attend weekly case conferences, and promptly document all student contacts in Titanium. In collaboration with the director, you will implement outreach and psychoeducational programs for the Atlanta location that focus on mental, emotional, and social wellness. Responsibilities include student crisis intervention, participation in quarterly student orientations, and the maintenance of a personal schedule aligned with the master schedule in Titanium. Additionally, you will inform your supervisor of staff development needs and prepare PRs for their signatures and approval.
Minimum qualifications:
Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field
Ability to be on location within 30 minutes
Preferred qualifications:
At least two years of experience in counseling and higher education
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
Clinical licensure in counseling, psychology, social work, or license eligible

Must be able to handle multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy including in the documentation of client folders that meet legal and billing guidelines. Must be sensitive to cultural differences within the University, ECP lab sites and community. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
Working Conditions/ Physical Demands (With or Without Accommodations)
Normal office environment. May travel some within the community when needed. May be required to lift normal office equipment and materials. Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information. Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication. Hearing ability for verbal communication/ conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions. Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing, reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling, and prolonged sitting. May be required to work additional hours or days depending on circumstances.

Provides on-site family and child-centered developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions including individual and group play therapy, Family Support Plans, Care Team Plan, and supportive strategies for children and staff in the classroom. Works in a collaborative team relationship with the administration and staff to provide continuity of services. Maintains documentation, records, reports, and ensures requirements of contracting agencies are met. Engages with representatives of other community organizations to provide resources necessary to assist families with needed referrals. Participates in community events and activities to raise awareness about early childhood brain development, attachment and early relational health, and social emotional development. Partners with clients, including caregivers, families, and children, to develop goals through the completion of observations, assessments, and evaluation tools. Provides developmentally appropriate resources and educational materials, training, and consultation for Early Childhood Programs teachers and staff. Develops and enhances knowledge base, building upon basic counseling/social work skills, through the use of various therapeutic modalities including infant and early childhood mental health, Play Therapy, Child-Parent Psychotherapy and family counseling. Provides mentoring and site supervision for practicum students and interns. Provides a broad range of administrative and supervisory functions. Supervises assigned staff in accordance with WNMU personnel practices including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, guidance, etc. Participates in the process of ongoing personal and professional development. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts (internal and external). Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with WNMU philosophy. Performs other duties as assigned.
