Oncology Nurse (ICU) Requisition ID req35754 Working Title Procedural Suites Oncology RN Position Grade 15 UNMCC is currently recruiting for an Oncology RN to provide direct, specialty surgical patient care and related technical and operational support to surgical patients, nursing staff, and Surgical providers. This position will coordinate and assist the surgical physicians with special tests, procedures, and complex treatments for surgical patients ensuring adherence to hospital or department and University policies, and nursing procedures, standards, and practices.
The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center is the Official Cancer Center of New Mexico and the only National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center in a 500-mile radius. Its 136 board-certified oncology specialty physicians include cancer surgeons in every specialty (abdominal, thoracic, bone and soft tissue, neurosurgery, genitourinary, gynecology, and head and neck cancers), adult and pediatric hematologists/medical oncologists, gynecologic oncologists, and radiation oncologists. They, along with more than 600 other cancer healthcare professionals (nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists, navigators, psychologists and social workers), provide treatment to 65% of New Mexico's cancer patients from all across the state. And they partner with community health systems statewide to provide cancer care closer to home. In 2024 they treated more than 15,000 patients in almost 105,000 ambulatory clinic visits in addition to in-patient hospitalizations at UNM Hospital. A total of 2,075 patients participated in cancer clinical trials to study new cancer treatments that include tests of novel cancer prevention strategies and cancer genome sequencing. The more than 123 cancer research scientists affiliated with the UNM Cancer Center were awarded $38.3 million in federal and private grants and contracts for cancer research projects. Since 2015, the physicians, scientists and staff have provided education and training experiences to more than 750 high school, undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral fellowship students in cancer research and cancer health care delivery.

The University of New Mexico Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) is seeking applicants for a Charge (RN) Nurse position. This supervisory position oversees an RN and Medical Assistant team in the General Medicine area of the clinic, which includes episodic care, primary care, and some specialty care. The Charge Nurse position will primarily be a clinical position, complemented by some administrative responsibilities and will report to the Clinical Operations Director.
Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) is a comprehensive and interdisciplinary health service available to all currently enrolled UNM students. SHAC is located North of Johnson Center and across from the Student Union Building. It is open Monday through Friday and is closed on all UNM holidays. Services include primary care, general medicine, medical specialty clinics, immunizations, pharmacy, physical therapy, lab and x-ray services, international travel health consults, and counseling services, as well as health education, prevention, and promotion.
The person in this position will:
* Provide direct patient care in an outpatient setting, ensuring high-quality and compassionate service
* Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing and medical assistant staff, supporting best practices and patient safety
* Oversee patient assessment, treatments, and follow-up care in collaboration with physicians and other providers
* Coordinate and oversee patient care/nursing triage activities in the clinic
* Monitor patient flow to maintain efficiency and minimize wait times
* Coordinate daily clinic staffing to ensure smooth scheduling and coverage
* Manage staff assignments, timecards, and scheduling adjustments as needed
* Support compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
* Facilitate communication between clinical staff, providers, and administration to address day-to-day clinic needs
* Assist with onboarding, training, and annual competencies for new and existing nursing and Medical Assistant staff
* Will conduct annual performance reviews with subordinate staff

Located conveniently in Augusta's downtown medical community, Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home provides continuous professional nursing care to veterans of Georgia who have served in the armed forces during war times. The home is owned and funded by the Georgia Department of Veterans Service and operated through an interagency agreement with Augusta University. Through this association, Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home is considered a leader in the area of geriatric educational training for Augusta University.
Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse assumes responsibility for complex direct nursing care of assigned geriatric patients in a Nursing Care Center. This individual also coordinates the nursing care provided as directed by nursing administration.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
CHARGE NURSE: Serves as a Charge Nurse and guides other personnel in delivery of direct nursing care. Assumes responsibility for the care of a group of patients on a unit. Participates in patient education, maintains patients charts, prepares, and administers medication, and utilizes equipment and supplies. Assists in orientation for new employees. Serves as a preceptor for assigned nurses or students.
MAIN DUTIES: Makes work assignments, monitors work performance for accuracy and completeness to ensure compliance with established nursing standards. Provides the comfort and safety of the patients. Maintains communication with immediate supervisor and Physician and seeks assistance when circumstances do not allow for independent action.
PATIENT VITALS: Take and record patients vital signs, collect and forward specimens, implement wound care as prescribed. Catheterize patients as ordered, monitor intake and output, report any unusual finding to supervisor or Physician.
PATIENT NUTRITION: Performs functions in the maintenance of proper nutrition and fluid balance, such as assisting with meals, tube feedings and monitoring oral fluid intake.
DOCUMENTATION: Appropriate documentation of all care provided.
PROGRAMS AND SEMINARS: Attends in-service programs and seminars as offered.
PROFESSIONALISM: Always maintains a professional manner with patients, visitors, and staff. Reports interpersonal problems to Nurse Manager and Supervisors as necessary.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited LPN Program; Current, Active licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Georgia; Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS/BCLS certification

General Summary: The Clinical Manager maintains the quality of client care in accordance with the Agency's objectives and policies, through planning, coordination, and implementation and evaluation of the home health services provided. We are seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in cardiac nursing to join our dynamic 23-bed unit, specializing in the care of patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions. This includes advanced heart failure, pre and post interventional cardiology, managing vasoactive drips, left ventricular assist devices, and pacemaker placements. Additionally, the nurse will manage conditions such as COPD, GI bleeding, pneumonia, chest tubes, urinary tract infections, electrolyte imbalances, and liver/kidney disease. Furthermore, the nurse will be responsible for managing a wide range of therapies, including chest tubes, tracheostomies, pain and diabetic management, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis, and IV antibiotics. This role uses QAPIplus analytics, documentation audits, and CMS quality indicators to identify improvement opportunities, implement corrective actions, and support survey readiness.
QAPI & Compliance Oversight
Monitors QAPIplus dashboards daily for clinical and documentation indicators. • Tracks CTI/F2F, IDT compliance, POC updates, orders, and symptom management. • Conducts documentation audits and manages corrective action plans. • Leads performance improvement projects (PIPs).
Clinical Quality Monitoring
Identifies quality-of-care concerns including pain delays, symptom escalation, and safety events. • Completes root cause analyses (RCAs) and leads follow-up actions. • Monitors triage response times and clinical interventions.
Documentation Audit & Review
Performs monthly documentation audits for CTIs, recerts, orders, visit frequency, and interdisciplinary notes. • Ensures survey readiness for state, federal, and accreditation bodies.
Education, Coaching & Staff Development
Provides targeted coaching and documentation training based on QAPIplus findings. • Supports onboarding with QAPI and compliance standards. • Works with educators and PCMs to standardize best practices.
Data Reporting & Analytics
Generates monthly QAPI reports with compliance scoring and trend analysis. • Produces branch performance scorecards and dashboards. • Prepares governing body and executive summaries.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Collaborates with PCMs, medical directors, triage nurses, and leadership. • Participates in IDT meetings to address documentation or quality issues.
Policy, Procedure & Process Improvement
Updates and reinforces quality-related policies. • Supports standardization across all branches and disciplines.
Requirements
Qualifications
Active RN license in good standing.
Minimum 2-3 years hospice experience required.
Strong working knowledge of CMS Hospice CoPs.
Experience with QAPI, compliance, or quality preferred.
Proficient in QAPIplus, Consolo, WellSky, or similar platforms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness, serving as a healthcare consultant for school personnel, students, and their families.
Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases and participating in disease prevention and outbreak management within the school)
Ensure compliance with national and local health laws
Update and keep track of student's medical history, developing health plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities
Collaborate with school staff to provide a coordinated school health program including but not limited to immunization compliance, detection of health problems in early stages through vision and hearing screening, medication administration, scheduled procedures including but not limited to: trach care, g-tubes, catheterizations and diabetic management
Development and training of school staff that has the potential to provide health services, including but not limited to the administration of medication to students, Epi-pen and narcan administration, and recognizing the signs and symptoms of diabetes.
Collaboration with Central Kitchen and Bus Barn to maintain student health related to allergies and daily health concerns while outside of the classroom
Assist students, families and staff to achieve optimal levels of wellness through health education/promotion, including classroom instruction on healthy habits, including but not limited to proper nutrition, hygiene, puberty and STI's
Engagement with community members about school/community health services
Write referrals for pediatricians and other health specialists
Development/coordination of quality improvement activities for the school health services component of the school health program.

Coordinate training in First Aid/CPR/First Responder Program for schools and staff.
