The Psychologist provides mental health services, assessment, crisis intervention, and outreach services to students, and consultation and outreach to faculty and staff in regard to student problems. Provides supervision to psychologists in training. Provides counseling services and outreach to students at UHCL and the UHCL Pearland campuses.
Duties:
* Provides counseling services to students including brief individual personal counseling, couples counseling, group counseling, and crisis intervention services for psychological crises on campus. Conducts assessment of students to determine the nature of their problems and provides treatment recommendations. Maintains appropriate confidential files of counseling clients. Covers required evening and weekend hours. Performs on call duties as backup for ProtoCall after-hours crisis service.
* Supervises psychology and counseling trainees in practicum and internship placements. Provides structured training seminar for practicum and internship programs.
* Plans and implements displays, workshops, seminars, and other structured psycho-educational and outreach programs designed to enhance personal development. Markets counseling services to students through participation in orientation, class visits, and other university events.
* Participates in peer review, case conference, and professional development continuing education activities to maintain and enhance skills, learn new knowledge and skills, maintain license, and contribute to the counseling profession. Participates in assessment procedures to maintain and improve services provided to students.
* Meets with faculty to provide information on services and provides consultation to faculty, as needed. Works with university staff to develop human relations skills in dealing with students and their problems and performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
* Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
* Experience providing counseling and assessment services to adults and to a college student population.
* Experience working with clients of various backgrounds.
* Experience supervising psychology interns and/or practicum trainees.
* Fully licensed Psychologist in Texas, or license eligible and licensed within 15 months of start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience providing mental health services in a college counseling setting.
* Successful completion of APA-accredited academic program and doctoral internship.

Marcus Autism Center is conducting a search for a clinical psychologist with specialization in early identification, screening, diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related neurodevelopmental disorders from birth through 21 years. This position primarily focuses on a split between diagnostic assessment and intervention. Treatment possibilities include early intervention with programs such as Project ImPACT, treatment of co-occurring anxiety with programs such as Facing your Fears and Coping Cats as well as other intervention possibilities such as treatment for co-occurring depression, executive functioning deficits and social skills training. The program stresses providing caregivers with an initial understanding of ASD and developing empirically supported treatment recommendations.
We are seeking individuals who are interested in providing a high level of clinical care and who are interested in contributing to innovative early intervention, treatment of co-occurring conditions and assessment. The psychologist will join a multidisciplinary intervention and assessment team that includes professionals from psychology, speech/language pathology, medicine, and social work. The position may involve supervision of trainees at the practicum, predoctoral, and postdoctoral level.
Successful candidates will be well-trained, possess a PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology, school psychology, or a related field and have completed an APA-accredited internship and postdoctoral fellowship. Ideal candidates will have clinical training/background in early intervention programs, such as Project ImPACT, other intervention programs such as Facing Your Fears, PEERS and assessment of toddlers and preschoolers and be research reliable in administering the ADOS-2. Marcus Autism Center is conducting a search for a doctoral-level clinician with specialization in Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder for medically complex children and children with autism. This position primarily focuses on providing clinical care, as well as clinical case management and supervision of post-doctoral students, interns, and staff providing a range of interventions, in intensive day treatment and outpatient programs. Children seen in the program receive 1:1 intervention delivered by Feeding Techs and Specialists in a clinic setting. Recently, the program has expanded beyond the Atlanta location to establish locations at the Center for Advanced Pediatrics and Children's at Forsyth.
We are seeking individuals who are interested in joining a dedicated team of professionals seeking to provide the highest quality care to children with ARFID. The clinician will be responsible for maintaining their own case load in the program. The clinician will join a multidisciplinary treatment team that includes professionals from Nutrition, Speech Language Pathology, Medicine, Occupational Therapy and Care Coordination. The position will also involve supervision of trainees at the Master's, predoctoral, and postdoctoral level. There will also be opportunities for independent and/or collaborative research by joining or initiating research projects on a range of feeding-related topics.
Successful candidates will possess a PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology or a related field and may possess a certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst- Doctoral (BCBA-D).
