The Director of Business Continuity and Emergency Management Office provides leadership, direction, and administration for Business Continuity and Emergency Management (BCEM) to ensure that relevant programs are developed to meet federal, state, local, and Joint Commission regulatory requirements. Responsible for developing, promoting, and overseeing policies, procedures, and programs necessary to maintain business continuity and emergency management preparedness efforts for the academic and heath campuses of UT San Antonio.
Core Responsibilities
* Provides effective leadership and strategic direction to staff members and oversee development of UT San Antonio programs that promote business continuity and emergency preparedness while complying with local, state, federal and Joint Commission regulations.
* Provides administrative oversight of Emergency Management and Business Continuity, including the coordination, assessment, development and communication of business continuity/emergency management principles for all departments to ensure the continued operation of all critical processes, resource and asset protection and loss mitigation in the event of a critical incident which disrupts operations.
* Conducts business continuity planning by coordinating regularly with key department representatives to identify points of vulnerability and recommend strategies for critical incidents. Reviews and analyzes information received from federal, state and local law enforcement or intelligence agencies to determine and assess risk.
* In partnership with the Manager of Business Continuity and Emergency Management and other personnel, maintains Business Impact Analysis (BIA) identifying and prioritizing critical functions, vital records, software applications, databases, critical equipment and other resources on an ongoing basis to ensure continued university operations.

Creates a reporting process for planned exercises on the academic and health campuses and disseminate results and other updates to stakeholders. Required Qualifications

Check and obtain CROE forms and signatures as required. Create, maintain, and organize files, contact information, research sponsor information, and records within the IP database system. Collect, track, and provide metric reports for the OTC . Benchmark OTC metrics relative to other universities as assigned. Review and extract relevant and complex IP information from incoming and outgoing correspondence daily (including from internal and external clients, foreign and domestic attorneys and agents, and inventors) for docket entry into the IP database system, further processing, signatures, activity creation, and other data management. Adapt to and manage specific docketing procedures established for each of our internal and external clients. Manage outside counsel to conform to OTC docketing procedures as Perform intake of new technology disclosures and the creation of associated IP database records. Identify all relevant docketing actions reported in or required by internal and external correspondence. Lifeguard training will be offered again in May. In order to take the training course, you must be able to pass the prerequisite swim test:
1. Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl(freestyle), breaststroke, or a combination of both, but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.
2. Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs. Candidates should place their hands under the armpits.
3. Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds.
* Starting in the water, swim 20 yards, The face may be in or out of the water, Swim goggles are not allowed.
* Surface dive, feet first or head first, to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object.
* Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface so you are able to get a breath. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.

Responsibilities:

* Organizes and coordinates employee engagement events, such as retreats, celebrations, team-building activities, and recognition programs, aimed at increasing employee morale. Solicits feedback from employees to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of engagement events. Works within budget and time constraints to ensure successful outcomes. Creates and maintains a calendar of events and communicates details to relevant parties.
* Maintains and updates training records and files for the College. Monitors the status of performance evaluations (six-month and annual) to ensure compliance with university policies.
