Vancouver Clinic company history timeline
In 1936, Doctor John Brougher, a gynecologist, invited Doctor Frank Boersma, a family practitioner, to join him in his practice.
The first to join him was GP, Doctor Frank Boersma in 1937.
In 1941, they changed their name to the Vancouver Clinic and a pillar of the Southwest Washington medical community emerged.
The clinic outgrew its original office suite, as well as its own building created in 1956.
Doctor John C. Brougher broke ground for the 87th Avenue clinic on January 21, 1978.
In 1978, with between 25 and 40 new patients joining the clinic each day, the clinic found itself at a crossroads.
In an interview shortly before his death in 1983, Brougher laughed about the thousands of babies he delivered, especially those during the Depression.
When the Clinic opened its doors in May 1990 in Clark County Public Health facilities, it was imagined as a weekly, short-term program.
The first clinic is scheduled to open in January 2019 at 7809 NE Vancouver Plaza Drive, in Vancouver.
