Perform a variety of duties in the stockroom involved with accurately receiving, storing, packaging and disbursing materials in addition to related recordkeeping. Select proper storage location and place items into stock. Locate items in stock and issue or deliver to production. Work from job packets, locator files, sales orders, computer terminals, and other stockroom records to identify and locate parts and storage locations. Prepare and package material and equipment for shipment. Initiate MRO requisitioning process. Advise proper personnel of shortages and questionable items. The Safety Specialist will uphold Vollrath's moral and ethical obligations to a safe workplace and the environment by maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and continually working towards improvements in the workplace, pollution prevention, waste reduction, and conservation efforts. This position is accountable for implementation of safety procedures, compliance-based auditing, and safety training. This position requires the individual to be a certified journeyman for Tool and Die Making. Under general supervision individuals will perform such duties as planning and performing all bench and required machine operations. This will include prototype work, constructing or making alterations and repairs to production tools, the building of jigs, fixtures, punches, dies, molds, gauges, templates or patterns. All work will involve a high degree of skill and thorough knowledge of tool building practices. Responsibilities Lay out work processes and sequences of operations required to fabricate specified tools. Identify the necessary materials as required or specified for the job. Setup and operate manual machines - experience with lathes, surface grinders and mills is required. Knowledge of CNC lathes, CNC mills and wire EDM. Assemble dies and fixtures and tryout tests. Perform inspection and tryout operations as specified for tooling and equipment. Must be able to work with complex CAD models, drawings for work that requires close tolerances. Must be able to understand and use shop mathematics and handbook formulas. Must be capable of using machine tools and hand tools to properly fit and assemble parts, repair or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools. Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects. The Engineering Supervisor - Countertop Equipment provides leadership to the countertop equipment engineering team in a way that leads to product and information outputs from the team that exceed the expectations of internal and external customers. The supervisor will guide the engineering team regarding key technical decisions, project scheduling and priority, interaction with other departments, and maintaining the cultural goals within the team. The position also engages in continuous improvement of the processes, procedures, and best practices of the team and looks forward to long term improvement goals. Job Responsibilities New Product Development - Work on NPD projects within the stage/gate process. The supervisor will be expected to participate in as an advisor, and lead engineer in NPD projects. Supervise Technical Activities - Have a working knowledge of the different technical challenges that the team faces at any given time. Be prepared to step in as an advisor for difficult challenges and be able to search for and provide resources in the form of equipment, knowledge and/or personnel. Act as a resource for other departments to understand what the team is working on, and the status of difficult technical initiatives. Management Tasks - Manage direct report's vacation and sick day requests as well as hourly employee schedule approval. Work with employees who are struggling and implement improvement plans. Conduct mid-year and yearly performance reviews. Goal Setting and Measurement - Create a strategy each year for goals within the engineering team and collaborate with engineers to implement on an individual level.
