**RESPONSIBILITIES**
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Ability to perform tasks including physical labor as instructed by supervisor
+ Ability to work with crew members and operate a variety of hand and power tools including drills, hammers, and other tools as directed by management
+ Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, including erecting scaffolding, removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials, and digging trenches

Job Description
AECOM's Buildings + Places Group has a fabulous opportunity in Roanoke, VA for a Construction Estimator that supports a diverse slate of projects and engineering estimate efforts. We offer a good balance of work and a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office.
The Construction Estimator will provide cost estimating support for our Buildings + Places estimating efforts. Estimates will vary and will include: detailed take-off, cost estimating, construction methodology, tact and approach, determination of crewing and productivity, proposal schedule generation, subcontractor/vendor solicitation and coordination, scope development, evaluation/comparison, bid day spreadsheets, bid report preparation, constructability reviews, value engineering. This role also includes travel to pre-bids and site visits in the U.S. and internationally.
In this role, the Construction Estimator performs the following, but will not be limited to:
* Works with the Company estimating systems and processes.
* Applies estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles.
* Recognizes how various processes/project actions and assumptions may impact the project estimates and begin to assist in quantifying the impact.
* Prepares bid packages, conceptual estimates and analysis of subcontractor bids, etc. for projects.
* Performs duties with some complexity under general supervision.
* Expected to assist in the preparation of larger and more complex estimating assignments including the Estimate Plan.
* Understands the Division costing structure (overheads, G&A, insurance, etc.)
* Develops wage rate build-ups.
* Reads and interprets drawings and specifications.
* Develops detailed material take-offs for estimate development and field procurement of bulk materials.
* Develops cash flow schedules and estimates.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Construction Engineering or Construction Management plus 4 years of related experience OR demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education (i.e. - Associate's degree + 6 years of experience OR High School Diploma or Equivalent + 8 years of experience)
* Demonstrated experience in estimating projects
* Experience with RSMeans Estimating or similar estimating system
* Due to the nature of the job, must be a United States Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
* Due to the nature of the job, this role may require a Security Clearance
* 5+ years Construction/Environmental experience which includes some estimating
* Field experience and contracting experience desire
* Ability to communicate, organize and manage multiple estimates

Job Description
AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Structural Engineering Intern for our transportation department in the Roanoke, VA office. As an intern in the transportation department, you will assist in the design and inspection of various highway structures.
This position is expected to begin Summer 2026.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.
Prepare engineering related calculations.
Perform quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
Review shop drawings.
Assist in the inspection of bridges, culverts, and tunnels.
Prepare details for construction drawings using CAD software.
Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or in another related field and must have completed at least 1 year of study. Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor's Degree and plan to continue with the Master's Degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid U.S driver's license.
Completed courses related to statics, strength of materials, introductory steel design, and introductory reinforced concrete design.
Ability to follow procedures and pay attention to detail.
Good written and oral communications skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
Proficiency in developing calculations using software like Excel or Mathcad.
Interest in bridge design is desired.

This position requires a hybrid work schedule which incudes in office work in Roanoke, VA. The selected candidate must be available to work in Roanoke, VA on a scheduled basis.

**Archer Western Construction** is currently seeking a **Rodman** for the **I 81 Widening Project** , in **Roanoke, VA** . The Rodman will perform field layout and measurements for grade stakes and mark reference points as instructed by Instrument Engineer or Surveyor.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Complete field surveying tasks such as measurement of distance for setting stakes
+ May assist Surveyor in establishing elevation points and other field layout
+ Provide care to survey equipment specifically chain and rod used for placing stakes
+ May perform other related duties as required
**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ 1 year of construction experience preferred
+ Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather conditions
+ Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly
+ Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn
+ Requires good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods
+ Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
