What You'll Do
Assist attorneys in the preparation of legal contracts and documents
Route and track a variety of documents for internal review and approval
Assist in review of clearance materials
Participate in legal research projects
Ensure orderly and up to date record keeping
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Previous work experience in the entertainment industry, and basic knowledge of copyright law preferred
Exemplary written and verbal skills required
Proven ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects effectively
Must be a team player, but also able to work independently
Demonstrate a high degree of discretion in regards to sensitive and/or confidential information
Completion of contracts coursework
Completion of an entertainment, copyright and/or intellectual property class
Required Education
Must be currently enrolled as a law student in an ABA accredited law school and have successfully completed your first year of law school

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a legal advisor for cross-functional product teams building and evolving digital platforms, apps, tools and AI solutions.
Advise on the legal and regulatory aspects of product development, including privacy, data protection, AI, AdTech, consumer protection and risk.
Partner closely with engineering, product management, data governance, security and commercial teams from ideation to launch.
Supporting the business on day-to-day data privacy matters in the US market, including: contract and document reviews from a US privacy perspective; marketing and data use consents; privacy impact assessments
Supporting responses to privacy related regulatory investigations and assessing litigation risk in the US market working closely with CN's parent company, Advance Publications, regarding US privacy laws
Partnering with relevant stakeholders, providing legal support to the Executive Director on privacy related breaches in the US market
Supporting the completion of privacy rights requests in the US market

The Role
The Legal Counsel, Talent and Revenue will support Condé Nast's commercial talent and revenue teams.

Support the development of standard policies, processes, tools and documents for revenue generating and branded content production related activities and work with commercial colleagues to ensure that agreed workflows and processes are being followed.
Deliver training and advice regarding Federal Trade Commission and other disclosure requirements, including requirements applicable to social media influencers.
Advise on compliance with local health and safety laws, permitting requirements and other local legal requirements in connection with video production and live events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct legal research and analyze statutes and case law.
Draft documents including memos, motions, and contracts under attorney supervision.
Assist with document review, discovery, and case file organization.
Prepare trial binders and support litigation processes.
Help with client communication and administrative duties.
Contribute to projects such as creating a work product tracker or organizing the digital filing system.
Complete a capstone project on topics like eliminating silos in legal workflows or developing a compliance advocacy program.

The role of a Legal Intern:
The Legal Intern will work under the guidance of experienced legal professionals to gain practical, hands-on experience in legal research, writing, and analysis. Our Legal team is seeking summer interns to join for a 10-week project-based program from June 8th, 2026 - August 14th, 2026 (35 hours per week).
Within this internship you could be placed on our Legal or Business Affairs team where you will work cross functionally to solve a business problem or help improve an internal process. You will be placed based upon your previous experience, interests and will be determined within the recruitment process.
The program is open to students of all majors with an interest and passion to pursue a career in the Media and Entertainment industry. Over the course of 10 weeks, students will gain hands-on work experience, access to networking events and professional development workshops to ensure a well-rounded and meaningful internship experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
You will manage your assigned project and effectively complete the assignment within your 10 weeks and present your progress and results at the end of the internship
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive value and complete your project
Create a project plan where you will outline your timelines, goals, and areas of focus
Project areas may include:
Assess and Witness negotiations, read and summarize agreements, help in creating rights charts
Participate in legal due diligence or discovery, and, where appropriate, gain hands-on drafting experience with respect to reviewing, summarizing, organizing, unscripted and digital programming and production agreements, and marketing, consumer products, digital, license, and some talent agreements with supervision and instruction
Additional responsibilities will include researching intellectual property and new media issues, examining piracy issues, and reviewing and commenting upon footage and music licenses
Reviewing and drafting simple agreements; sitting on calls; attending meetings; drafting legal research memos and creating charts for various rights/agreements
Work with the entire legal team from litigation/employment/privacy to the transactional lawyers on content, advertising, and marketing deals
Draft short form agreements (certificates of authorship, engagement, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred)
Currently be enrolled in a J.D. program
Consideration for the position will be limited to candidates who are (or will be) first or second-year law students
Have proven proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams)
