The company also provides a range of wildlife species management services from small game, including rabbits and squirrels to endangered species, as well as wildlife consulting services that include management of wild turkey, quail, waterfowl, and dove fields; and online hunting lease information. In addition, it sells recreational properties to landowners and investors; manages mining for coal and limestone, as well as explores and produces natural gas and coal seam gas; designs and plans residential communities and commercial real estate; and develops mitigation banks, as well as provides environmental mitigation and habitat planning services to landowners, businesses, government agencies, and land trusts. The company offers its products in the United States and internationally. The Westervelt Company, Inc. was formerly known as Gulf States Paper Corporation and changed its name to The Westervelt Company, Inc. in August 2006. The company was founded in 1884 and is based in Tuscaloosa, Alabama with additional offices in Sacramento, California; and Auburn, Alabama.
