Job Description
The Willis Law Firm, a boutique firm and nationally recognized leader in DUI defense, is looking for a highly motivated trial attorney with at least three years of experience to join our team! The attorneys at our firm work hard to ensure that every client receives the best possible defense and representation. If you are looking for opportunities to change the face of criminal law, this is the firm for you. We do hundreds of motions hearings every year and file at least one lengthy memorandum in every case.
We have an extremely comprehensive library of Memorandums and Briefs that Greg Willis modifies weekly to keep up with case law. Our attorneys take cases to trial and on appeal to the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, and the United States Supreme Court (our firm has cases pending in all three courts that could dramatically change current case law). Greg Willis has handled over 60 appeals to each of Georgia's appellate courts and approximately 10 appeals to the United States Supreme Court. The lawyers in the firm work on all the appeals together, and Georgia's current DUI laws are being challenged by our firm as they relate to the admissibility of blood, breath, and urine testing. Our attorneys also invest time in pro bono work, including writing briefs for the GACDL Amicus Committee and assisting GACDL in other important endeavors.

Responsibilities:
Handling cases from initial interview through motions, trial, and appeal, using the firm's culture and approach to each case
Making court appearances
Conducting prospective client intake interviews
Legal communication (e.g., plea negotiations, courtroom communications with prosecutors and judges)
Qualifications:
Degree from an ABA-accredited law school
Must have at least three years of experience as a trial attorney
Experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Experience using the MyCase case management system is preferred
Must be an active member in good standing with the Georgia Bar Association

Compensation Data

Drive IMS and team engagement during internal team and management reviews as well as customer reviews
Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight
Make/recommend improvements to improve systems and processes to support schedule attainment
Perform regular analysis of program schedules to evaluate program and enterprise-wide resource needs through the integration of all program schedules including metrics on schedule status, critical path analysis, schedule variance analysis, network logic validation and program baseline maintenance.
Utilize Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, and other project management techniques to gauge program progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas
Prepare, develop, and coordinate integrated master plan and integrated master schedule (IMP/IMS) using MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ensure projects and program schedules and plans are integrated across company functional groups including engineering, material, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality
Attend and lead scheduling status reviews and conduct briefings with senior leaders and customers which requires ability to communicate matters of importance to the function or business area
Track progress on prototype and R&D work orders, ensuring timely handoffs from Engineering to Production.
Collaborate with Supply Chain Management to ensure long-lead and experimental materials are planned and available ahead of key builds.
Drive continuous improvement in scheduling accuracy, change control, and communication processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of prior relevant experience or a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience for candidates with no degree
Strong Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint and schedule analytics skills and experience
Experience creating and/or maintaining an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and any Supporting Schedules on assigned projects/programs
Experience in creating and presenting project-level reports, presentations and deliverables that reflect risk and status to program management and senior management relating to the IMS is required
Preferred Additional Skills:
Strong knowledge of job area and in-depth knowledge of project management

This position is 100% in the office. You will manage a criminal case calendar and will provide legal assistance/paralegal support to the attorneys at our firm. Responsibilities:
Undertake other duties as needed to ensure the firm operates efficiently
Oversee client case files with tasks such as preparing and organizing client files, adding upcoming hearings to the calendar, saving all relevant documents to the client's case file, and client correspondence regarding court dates and other related matters
Oversee criminal calendars and related tasks such as preparing conflict letters and tables for team calendar meetings, keeping up with the calendar for the upcoming weeks, filing conflict letters, and corresponding with courts and/or judicial staff to assist with resetting hearings
Oversee office correspondence and administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, communicating with clients and court staff, responding to emails, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines
Keeping up with client billing and contacting clients about outstanding invoices
E-filing and/or mailing court documents to courts, the prosecuting attorney's office, and other parties as needed
Undertake other duties as needed to ensure the firm operates efficiently
Drafting a variety of legal documents using our templates for pleadings, motions, affidavits, etc., and proofreading documents when necessary
Qualifications:
Able to meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience (minimum 1-2 years) in a law firm as a legal assistant and/or paralegal is absolutely necessary. We will train the right person to use our computer-based model that works!
Candidates should have strong organizational and communication skills to effectively and efficiently interact with all levels of court personnel and clients
You can self-manage and work well alone, but also be part of a team. We are all dependent upon one another's success.
Technology and the use of computers are one of your strong suits
Candidates must have worked with legal software (preferably MyCase), case management, and docketing programs
High school diploma or its equivalent is required
