This 130-bed acute care hospital offers a wide range of services, including Adult and Senior Inpatient Programs, Dual Diagnosis Programs, and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) to address community needs. We are currently seeking to add a Full-Time, Inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to support our patients receiving specialized psychiatric care. About the role: The Inpatient Psychiatrist will be responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication. Responsibilities Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility. Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures. Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations. Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders. Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications. Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner. Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures. Qualifications Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required. One or more years' post graduate degree practice preferred. Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate. Licenses/Certifications: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry preferred. Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working. Mount Carmel Behavioral Health is designed to meet the unique needs of adult patients and their families who are seeking treatment for various behavioral health diagnoses, such as depression and other mood disorders, schizophrenia, and psychiatric disorders complicated by co-occurring addictions. Our team of medical and psychiatric professionals will work with each patient to create an individualized treatment plan. PURPOSE STATEMENT: Plan, direct and implement activity therapy programs as a component of the patient's treatment plan. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Complete activity assessment through patient observation and patient/family interview, obtaining information on the patient's needs, skills, interests and limitations for the development and implementation of the treatment plan. Plan, organize, direct and implement the activities within the treatment program to facility patient progress with treatment goals. Plan and implement an activities program including but not limited to therapeutic leisure skills and activities, leisure education and leisure awareness. Qualifications EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreational Therapy or related field required. Master's degree preferred. Three or more years' experience in recreation in a healthcare setting with knowledge of patient population served by the facility required. Previous experience in recreation in a healthcare setting is preferred. LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or currently in the process of obtaining national certification; OR certified in the area of specialty (Art, Dance, Music, etc.) OR clinical professional licensure (LCPC, LPC, etc.) with certification in expressive therapy area required. CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
