Job Description
Are you an experienced manufacturing leader driven to bring cutting-edge solutions to a rapidly growing industry?
As an Ops Tech/Area Supervisor at Suterra, you'll drive process control and oversee a dynamic team of individuals producing products for sustainable agriculture. You will gain experience in all aspects of our operation including production area oversight, quality control, engineering support projects, continuous improvement projects, and supply chain logistics.
This position is based in our Bend, Oregon headquarters and requires onsite presence Monday - Friday 5:00 am-3:30 pm. (4 to 5 ten hour days per week). Our production facility is clean, temperature controlled, and involves light duty manufacturing on a variety of custom equipment.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and innovative Biotech manufacturing operation in Central Oregon. The Operations Technician position will provide experience in all aspects of the operation including area oversight, quality control, engineering projects, continuous improvement sessions, and supply chain management. After training is completed between these groups, the person is expected to be promoted to an Area Supervisor role.
The Area Supervisor will rotate through different areas of responsibility to facilitate their development. During the rotations, they will work with additional business groups including Purchasing, Sourcing, Engineering, Product Development, and outside vendors.
Regardless of the area assigned, they'll strive for continuous improvement through the implementation of LEAN principles. This person will help facilitate problem-solving sessions with peers and production operators to improve the quality of our product and the production environment.
Responsibilities and Dynamics in the role:
Oversight of an assigned area within the operation, which will change based on the needs of the business and the individual's development. Rotations include
* Production Area Oversight:
* Support the operating team by teaching best practices
* Task operating team members with work based on Forecasts and Orders
* Maintain an accurate inventory of Raw Materials and Finished Goods through the use of our ERP system
* Support special projects such as:
* New equipment commissioning
* Experimental product construction
* Engineering improvement projects
* Ops efficiency improvements
* New technology research and integration
* Equipment Specification
* Supply Chain Ownership:
* Facilitate local and international shipping between business sites and to our customers
* Oversee the supply of raw materials in an organized fashion to a variety of different production areas
* Propose improvements to process and equipment by writing proposals that include ROI calculations
* Lead problem-solving sessions with quality and operations team members
* Use ERP (Dynamics AX) to maintain inventory/shipping/operations records
* Maintain efficient communication with vendors and internal stakeholders
Qualifications
Beneficial qualities and skillsets:
* Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite and highly confident using computers
* Demonstrated experience managing short and long-term projects.
* Strong written and oral communication skills are essential. The ability to communicate professionally in high-pressure situations is critical.

* Experience in teaching and or educating peers on new processes/equipment.
* Demonstrated ability to solve problems while understanding risks to resources and deadlines.

Pay Range: $28/hr. with structured increases based on work center proficiency and task completion.

Qualifications
What You Bring
Proven operational leadership experience, ideally including plant management or direct responsibility for manufacturing operations.
5-10+ years of experience in operations, manufacturing, or industrial process improvement roles with increasing scope and responsibility.
Demonstrated success leading large-scale change initiatives, from concept to execution, in multi-site or global environments.
Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, or other structured improvement methodologies; certification strongly preferred.
Strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to translate executive objectives into actionable plans.
Strong communication, facilitation, and influencing skills, able to align diverse stakeholders and inspire accountability at all levels.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.

Job Description
As a successful candidate, you will bring excellent communication skills and attention to detail to safely operate equipment using computerized control systems and standard operating procedures. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art processing equipment and specifically designed to lead the industry in safety standards. Our Chemical Operating team continually produces new products that have a direct impact on the quality of the international agricultural food supply.
Safely load and unload specified liquids and powder into a variety of vessels and equipment as directed by batch sheets (recipes) and standard operating procedures.
Keep detailed production records based on your assigned chemistry by following established best practices for documentation.
Maintain an organized workspace to avoid trip hazards, create a potential for spill or release of materials, or mistake material selections.
Operate a forklift and other material handling equipment to prepare for an assigned chemistry or breakdown and re-stock unneeded equipment and supplies.
Follow specific and detailed standard operating procedures to comply with our high standards for safety and quality.
Perform in-process testing (IPT) using specialized instrumentation to monitor and inform the progress of various chemistry steps.
Monitor and analyze equipment using a computerized control system and process activity to accurately document process conditions to ensure we meet the industry's highest standards.
Work as a part of a responsible, self-directed team with a dedicated supervisory leader.
Due to 24/7 production, communication of production progress on your assigned area and/or chemistry to the oncoming shift and shift handover is paramount.
Safely 'don' and 'doff' all required Personal Protective Equipment.
Pay Structure:
Starting pay is $25.00 per hour.
After 90 days on the team
and
completion of the 90-day training list, team members will be eligible for a $1.00 increase, $26.00 per hour. Opportunity to earn a minimum of $60,650 in your first year with the team!
After 12 months on the team
and
completion of the 12-month training list, team members will be eligible for a $2.00 increase, $28.00 per hour. Opportunity to earn a minimum of $66,250 in your second year with the team!
After a year of service and a fully signed-off training list, team members become eligible to be nominated for lead roles. Successful completion of a lead role will carry an additional $2.00 per hour increase to $30.00/hr.
Schedule:
Schedule is made a year in advance, so you'll know every day you are working for the entire year!
12-hour shifts, 2 hours overtime guaranteed each shift.
3-4 days off each week.
10% night shift premium pay.
Paid Lunches.
Rotating night shift on a quarterly basis.
Overtime opportunities available.
3 weeks of PTO accrued in your first year!

Understanding of mathematical principles to measure, meter, and count materials accurately.

Job Description
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintenance and repair of equipment and utilities as well as driving projects for long-term improvements in safety, efficiency, capacity and compliance.
This role will interface closely with both external vendors and internal departments, including health & safety, engineering, supply chain management and operations.
This role is full-time, on-site at our facility in Bend, Oregon.
Preventive Maintenance:
* Conducting preventive maintenance for our on-site production systems and facility infrastructure.
* Maintaining records of maintenance performed and parts and materials utilized.
* Working with Engineering to develop preventive maintenance programs for new equipment and utilities.
* Working with the Operations team to coordinate access to equipment and utilities with minimal impact on production.
* Coordinating preventive maintenance requiring outside vendor support, including requests for quotation, scheduling, safety orientation and permit issuance.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
* Working with our Maintenance, Engineering and Operations teams to understand the root cause of issues that are affecting equipment or utility performance.
* Managing parts, tools, drawings and other resources required to facilitate safe and timely repairs.
* Providing recommendations and initiating projects to prevent the recurrence of equipment issues and breakdowns.
Project Support:
* Working with Operations and Engineering to generate and implement improvements that enhance safety and efficiency.
* Supporting the safe installation of new tools and equipment.
* Providing support to the broader Operations team with mechanical and fabrication work.

Qualifications

* One to three years of maintenance experience in an industrial plant or field service role.
* Past experience with site utilities including plumbing, compressed air, HVAC, building automation, and fire suppression systems.
* Knowledge of control circuits and troubleshooting controls for pumps, motors and other electrical/mechanical systems in an industrial environment.
* Experience with troubleshooting and installing programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
* Strong understanding of pneumatic systems used for production equipment, including cylinder operation, manifold design, and troubleshooting valve assemblies.
* Ability to use and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints and schematics.

Job Description
The Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic will repair and maintain industrial manufacturing machinery. This role ensures all machines function properly through preventive maintenance service and troubleshooting support. As well as participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide support to kaizen teams.
This role will interface closely with external vendors and internal departments, including health and safety, engineering, supply chain management, and production.
This role is full-time, on-site at our facility in Bend, Oregon.
Preventive Maintenance:
* Ensure self and coworkers comply with all safety rules and regulations (LOTO, fall protection, hot work, etc.)
* Follow existing operating procedures to perform uptime and downtime inspections, lubrications, and preventive maintenance.
* Dismantle and reassemble complex machines efficiently, precisely, and reliably.
* Inspect machine parts using various measurement instruments.
* Maintain inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
* Provide training and development to operators and other maintenance personnel.
* Verify that machinery is in a ready state before coordinating with manufacturing to resume production.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
* Work with different levels across departments through face-to-face, telephone, email, and radio communications.
* Find sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and/or testing electric circuits.
* Troubleshoot and perform corrective work on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
* Identify and execute improvements on equipment, documentation, work systems, and processes.
* Use equipment manuals, schematics, parts breakdowns, online information, and vendor communication to solve problems.
* Escalate technical, procedural, and personnel-related issues to direct lead or supervisor.
Fabrication:
* Safely set up, operate, and disassemble manual and machine tools.
* Turn, mill, drill, shape, weld, and grind machine parts to specification.
* Operate cutting, welding, and various other fabrication equipment to cut, form, and/or join materials.
Pay: $30-40/hr DOE
Qualifications

* An associate degree in an industrial machinery-related field.
* One to three years of experience in an industrial plant setting.

* Good computer, communication, and report-writing skills.

Are you an experienced manufacturing leader driven to bring cutting-edge solutions to a rapidly growing industry?
As an Ops Tech/Area Supervisor at Suterra, you'll drive process control and oversee a dynamic team of individuals producing products for sustainable agriculture. You will gain experience in all aspects of our operation including production area oversight, quality control, engineering support projects, continuous improvement projects, and supply chain logistics.
This position is based in our Bend, Oregon headquarters and requires onsite presence Monday - Friday 5:00 am-3:30 pm. (4 to 5 ten hour days per week). Our production facility is clean, temperature controlled, and involves light duty manufacturing on a variety of custom equipment.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and innovative Biotech manufacturing operation in Central Oregon. The Operations Technician position will provide experience in all aspects of the operation including area oversight, quality control, engineering projects, continuous improvement sessions, and supply chain management. After training is completed between these groups, the person is expected to be promoted to an Area Supervisor role.
The Area Supervisor will rotate through different areas of responsibility to facilitate their development. During the rotations, they will work with additional business groups including Purchasing, Sourcing, Engineering, Product Development, and outside vendors.
Regardless of the area assigned, they'll strive for continuous improvement through the implementation of LEAN principles. This person will help facilitate problem-solving sessions with peers and production operators to improve the quality of our product and the production environment.
Responsibilities and Dynamics in the role:
Oversight of an assigned area within the operation, which will change based on the needs of the business and the individual's development. Rotations include
Production Area Oversight:
Support the operating team by teaching best practices
Task operating team members with work based on Forecasts and Orders
Maintain an accurate inventory of Raw Materials and Finished Goods through the use of our ERP system
Support special projects such as:
New equipment commissioning
Experimental product construction
Engineering improvement projects
Ops efficiency improvements
New technology research and integration
Equipment Specification
Supply Chain Ownership:
Facilitate local and international shipping between business sites and to our customers
Oversee the supply of raw materials in an organized fashion to a variety of different production areas
Propose improvements to process and equipment by writing proposals that include ROI calculations
Lead problem-solving sessions with quality and operations team members
Use ERP (Dynamics AX) to maintain inventory/shipping/operations records
Maintain efficient communication with vendors and internal stakeholders
Qualifications
Beneficial qualities and skillsets:
Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite and highly confident using computers
Demonstrated experience managing short and long-term projects.
Strong written and oral communication skills are essential. The ability to communicate professionally in high-pressure situations is critical.
Enthusiasm for teamwork across multiple functions of the organization.
Experience in teaching and or educating peers on new processes/equipment.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems while understanding risks to resources and deadlines.
Mechanical, Electrical, Software proficiencies will be given special consideration.
Demonstrated experience supervising others.
Prior success managing short and long-term projects.

Managers lead shifts every week, making sure customers get a fast, accurate, friendly experience every visit. But some managers also lead Departments. Previous managerial experience is preferred, ideally within a restaurant, retail or hospitality environment.
