Under the direction of the Afterschool Program Director(s) and Site Director, the Site Counselor is responsible for leading assigned group in various planned activities to support the overall goals of the program. Planning and implementing activities for elementary age children that builds upon the skills needed to be successful in school. All decisions must be guided by Bright from the Start and the YMCA standards. This position must perform duties in accordance with the policies, goals, mission, values and objectives established by the Metropolitan Atlanta YMCA, Branch Strategic Plan, Safety Protocols Including COVID, and Member Services Guidelines and Non-negotiables. Emphasis will be placed on member service, program knowledge, member/staff safety, and communication with members and staff.
Minimum Requirements:
* Must be 18 years of age.
* Must possess a minimum credential that meets BFTS requirement and HS Diploma or equivalent.
* Have prior experience working with school-age children in a group setting. A licensed setting and supervision of staff in a school-age setting is a plus.
* Have current evidence of successful completion of biennial training in CPR/First Aid.
* Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
* Have experience with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Power Point, as well as, internet technology platforms such as Google Classroom and Zoom.
* Must receive a cleared GCIC/NCIC and a cleared Fingerprint check through Bright From the Start before working. Annual GCIC checks will be conducted before each school year begin.
Ongoing Responsibilities:
* Operate the program according to BFTS and YMCA policies and procedures.
* Create an environment that provides various activities and instruction to support program goals.
* Operate and deliver the program in compliance with YMCA and BFTS regulations.
* Discuss and report any concerns with the Site Director.
* Maintain personal file to remain in compliance with Bright From the Start and the YMCA.
* Compile attendance records and other pertinent information required by the program, as needed.
* Coordinate supply orders with the Site Director.
* Attend BFTS, YMCA and other trainings as scheduled. Maintain BFTS annual trainings hours.
* Consult with the Site Director on concerns related to student(s) development or behavior.
* Provide input into the planning and development of the program.
* Complete monthly self-assessments of the program, as needed.
* Assist students with virtual learning assignments as required by their school district.
* Perform other duties as related to the delivery of a quality afterschool program.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, the Teen Counselor plans, organizes all program activities at the Y Branch; ensures the safety of youth and teens who are participating in the programs and clubs; creates and leads monthly special events; and coordinates and facilitates weekly teen clubs. This is a grant funded position.
RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
* Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position's scope and responsibility.
* Provide leadership and supervision to the participants within the program with guidance from the Youth Development Director.
* Instructs lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.
* Stay updated on current issues regarding programs.
* Promote, monitor, evaluate and ensure that all programs run smoothly with a high level of service to participants.
* Coordinate and ensure all program components are implemented and met to meet compliance of Goizueta Grant.
* Builds effective, authentic relationships with teen participants and parents/guardians; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.
* Assist as needed in all aspects of the YMCA and its community.
* Responsible for maintaining and reporting incident/accident paperwork.
* Other duties as assigned.

Planning and implementing activities for elementary age children that builds upon the skills needed to be successful in school. All decisions must be guided by Bright from the Start and the YMCA standards. This position must perform duties in accordance with the policies, goals, mission, values and objectives established by the Metropolitan Atlanta YMCA, Branch Strategic Plan, Safety Protocols Including COVID, and Member Services Guidelines and Non-negotiables. Minimum Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age.

Have prior experience working with school-age children in a group setting. A licensed setting and supervision of staff in a school-age setting is a plus.
Have current evidence of successful completion of biennial training in CPR/First Aid.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Have experience with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Power Point, as well as, internet technology platforms such as Google Classroom and Zoom.
Must receive a cleared GCIC/NCIC and a cleared Fingerprint check through Bright From the Start before working. Annual GCIC checks will be conducted before each school year begin.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, the Camp Counselor will be primarily responsible for supporting the Camp program and for the successful achievement of providing guidance, safety, leadership, education, and enjoyment for children served by camp.
RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
* Provide guidance, safety, leadership, education, and enjoyment for children served by camp.
* Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position's scope and responsibility.

About This Position Berkshire Nature Camp is seeking individuals to foster experiential nature-based learning for campers. We aim to promote positive youth development, stewardship for the environment, and a respectful and inclusive safe space for all our campers.
Duties & Responsibilities
Co-lead a group of children by exploring fields, forests, streams, and hiking trails
Work with a partner to develop, plan, and implement age-appropriate nature-based lessons and daily activities for children
Create and maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment for all campers
Act as a role model to both campers and colleagues
Design and implement a nature education program for young children that reflects the needs of children, standards for early childhood education, and Mass Audubon's mission
Assist in cleanup/organization at the end of each day

Work Schedule
Camp staff training will be held from June 10th through June 19th, 2026. Camp runs from June 22nd through August 14th, 2026. Hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, the Teen Counselor plans, organizes all program activities at the Y Branch; ensures the safety of youth and teens who are participating in the programs and clubs; creates and leads monthly special events; and coordinates and facilitates weekly teen clubs. This is a grant funded position.
RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
* Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position's scope and responsibility.
* Provide leadership and supervision to the participants within the program with guidance from the Youth Development Director.
* Instructs lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.
* Stay updated on current issues regarding programs.
* Promote, monitor, evaluate and ensure that all programs run smoothly with a high level of service to participants.
* Coordinate and ensure all program components are implemented and met to meet compliance of Goizueta Grant.
* Builds effective, authentic relationships with teen participants and parents/guardians; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.
* Assist as needed in all aspects of the YMCA and its community.
* Responsible for maintaining and reporting incident/accident paperwork.
* Other duties as assigned.

Nature and Scope:
Under the direction of the Camp Assistant Counselor, the Counselor In Training will learn how to be responsible for the success of the Camp program and learn guidance, safety, leadership, values education and enjoyment for children served by camp.

* Completion of the Resident Camp "Leader-In-Training" Program

About This Position
Wellfleet Bay Nature Camp is seeking individuals to foster experiential nature-based learning for campers. We aim to promote positive youth development, stewardship for the environment, and a respectful and inclusive safe space for all our campers.
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead a group of children by exploring fields, forests, wetlands, streams, and hiking trails
Work with a partner or team to develop, plan, and implement age-appropriate nature-based lessons and daily activities for children
Assist in cleanup/organization at the end of each day
Create and maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment for all campers
Treat all campers with compassion
Act as a role model to both campers and colleagues
Provide behavioral support to campers and Counselors in Training as needed
Qualifications

Required qualifications as per Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MA DPH) regulations, American Camp Association standards and Mass Audubon Policy:
Must be at least 18 years of age
At least 4 weeks of experience working with children including, but not limited to, babysitting (volunteer or otherwise) and experience with younger siblings
Hold current First Aid and CPR certifications or participate in Mass Audubon provided training to obtain certification prior to the beginning of camp
Provide documented proof of immunity or vaccination record as mandated by MA DPH; complete camp health form and waiver
Willing to be outdoors for several hours per day in most weather conditions
Ability to physically access sanctuary terrain easily by foot
Ability to effectively interact with others, especially children, in camp's youth-centered environment
Ability to adapt to changes in schedule and work assignment
Desired Qualifications
Strong interest or related education experience in Environmental Studies, Biology, Conservation, Education, or related field
Familiarity with regional natural history, wildlife conservation, or other applicable natural history topics
Work Schedule
Camp staff training will be held from June 10th through June 16th, 2026. Camp runs from June 22nd through August 21st, 2026. Hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
Compensation and Benefits
This position's pay range is $18.00-$19.00 per hour; actual pay will be determined based on experience level, qualifications relative to position requirements, and location of the position. This is not a benefits eligible position.
