Overview
The Therapist provides clinical recovery-focused services to clients with mental illness and substance abuse problems, if present. Performs diagnostic assessments and formulates diagnoses. Assesses symptoms and manages immediate crisis including danger to self or others, and implements crisis intervention plan if necessary.
Implements treatment planning goals, utilizing program-specific evidencebased practices.
Provides clinical direction to QMHA-Ievel staff (case managers, skills trainers, mental health associates).
Works collaboratively with schools and other community resources to help clients with social development, housing needs, accessing employment and other income resources, and medical coverage. These resources may include- but are not limited to-family, HUD and Social Security.
Qualifications
This position requires a Master's degree in a behavioral science, an understanding of co-occurring disorders, and related experience.
Experience with substance abuse treatment for dually diagnosed clients preferred.
