  • Physical Therapist [Direct Access]

    Allcare PT

Therapist job in New York, NY

Benefits: 401(k) Bonus based on performance Company parties Competitive salary Free food & snacks Health insurance Profit sharing Stock options plan Wellness resources Do you want a job as a Physical Therapist or an advanced career as a Direct Access Physical Therapist? You don't know. What you don't know Did you ever catch yourself saying I wish there was a school where I can learn the real business side of direct access outpatient therapy without the risk of opening my own practice and develop the skills of managing a healthcare business? You will always have a job in this profession and make a decent wage and the real issue is that while that may satisfy your financial needs in the short term you will feel stuck with your career growth after a few years and wonder what to do next. Just having the attitude to expand your skills is not enough in this arena you must master a new mindset for expanded learning I want to grow you I promise you this being a great clinician is a commodity in todays healthcare system. Did you know that now your most prized skill Manual therapy is now a code many insurances have removed, and only paying for therapeutic activities and or therapeutic exercises. Getting an OCS or other cert is not the answer to career advancement anymore business and leadership skills are the only way to advance and I will want to give you these skills so you can make more money in your future endeavors Smart physical therapists like you will soon realize that your one skill as a Physical Therapist will be limited to how many patients you can treat per day, or per hour. Unfortunately, there is no leverage in one on one treatment because you cannot produce better results with that model anymore due to the low reimbursements. Cash Pay is not a business model its an exchange for solving bigger health problems not PT problems Climbing the corporate ladder in a big box outpatient center or hospital rehab system is a road to becoming a department manager, another name in healthcare is compliance officer. Compliance officers are like the police they keep everyone in line. If this is your dream then go for it, you may make a few more dollars in the long term but it will come with a cost of stagnation clinically which is why you chose this field in the first place. Learn the difficult things no one else is teaching you and get good with the skills no one else is comfortable showing you in order to get to financial freedom Going back to school for your MBA cannot teach you real business skills and will put you in more debt. You will learn from theoretical professors who never ran a small business and never actually worked in healthcare. This path certainly wont lead you to learning the business side of healthcare Bad strategies for personal development I like you was once a new grad with the same dreams as you, financial freedom and doing my own thing as a practice owner. The big difference between me and you is years of wisdom in a time when healthcare was all about capitalism now its socialized you don't know. what you don't know I am on a mission to change the way you view your professional degree and would like to enlighten you on the possibilities if you have the fire and desire and determination to expand beyond being a PT.
