Job Responsibilities
Deliver 1:1 direct ABA treatment to clients to increase skills, decrease problem behaviors and strengthen the behavioral supports in place
Work closely with the supervising BCBA and other team members to ensure high quality service delivery

Collect data and document client records to monitor progress and to enable the best possible treatment decisions

Position Summary:
At Athletico, the Physical Therapist's role is to evaluate, design and implement a patient's plan of care. Each Plan of Care is created to increase, maintain or restore function, minimize or prevent disability, and assist patients in reaching their maximum performance levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Providing interpretation of prescriptions, performing an initial evaluation, and establishing a treatment plan with functional and/or work related goals
Appropriately progressing the treatment and goals
Periodic and timely written communication to physicians
Appropriate discharge management and patient follow‐up
Supervision of rehabilitation aides and administrative staff as needed
Supervision of PTAs when applicable per the appropriate state practice act
Documentation: All PT's are responsible for documenting all treatment and completing all written communications in a timely manner, including but not limited to, initial evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, daily S.O.A.P. notes, functional status reports, functional capacity evaluations and insurance/plan of care forms as necessary
Physical Therapists are responsible for establishing and developing professional relationships with Athletico's referral sources including, but not limited to, physicians, PAs, ARNPs, chiros, case managers, etc.

Providing coverage to special events such as sport camps, races, tournaments & lectures

Physician office visits - inform physicians of our services, locations, quality patient care and philosophy to be the best provider
Accompanying patients to their physician visits (patient visits)
Interoffice communication and follow up
Education: Staff in‐services, community in‐services, attendance at continuing education courses, and follow‐up summary of all continuing education courses to staff members

What You Will Do:
Evaluate students' performance capacities and deficits relative to development, sensory integration, proprioception, motor skills, leisure skills, and activities of daily living.
Develop and implement, as part of the IEP, treatment plans that address each student's sensory, motor, participation, and functional needs.
Provide direct therapeutic services that strengthen sensory regulation, fine-motor development, motor planning, executive functioning, self-regulation, and participation in school routines.

Coach classroom staff to build their capacity to use research-based occupational therapy strategies, including sensory-motor routines, environmental supports, and accommodations.
Demonstrate and instruct school personnel and families so they can consistently implement therapeutic strategies, sensory tools and strategies, and motor activities throughout the day.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary team members-teachers, paraprofessionals, behavior specialists, SLPs, and PTs -to align interventions and support students with complex sensory and motor needs.

What You'll Do
As a Physical Therapist, you'll report to the Clinical Manager. You will evaluate patients, plan treatment programs and perform physical therapy procedures to restore function, prevent disability, reduce pain and maximize potential and quality of life following disease, injury or surgery.
Physical Therapist Job Responsibilities
Complete assessments per physician orders and develop goal-oriented treatment plans.
Reassess and adjust plans based on patient progress and objective findings.
Communicate with physicians regarding therapy changes and ensure prescriptions are current.
Supervise therapy assistants and follow regulatory guidelines.
Begin discharge planning at evaluation and apply continuing education to practice.
Use evidence-based techniques and educate patients/families with appropriate materials.
Meet productivity expectations and assist others as needed.
Show initiative and flexibility in managing caseloads.
Participate in meetings, projects, and maintain required certifications.
Follow team communication norms and collaborate across disciplines.
Complete all documentation timely and accurately to support billing and compliance.
Include detailed, diagnosis-appropriate content and sign per policy.
Maintain professional memberships and continuing education.
Share knowledge through in-services and serve as a clinical resource.
Stay current with literature and contribute to staff development.
Complete assigned projects and represent the department in committees.
Collaborate with leadership to improve patient services.
What You Bring
You bring the familiarity with use of modalities and equipment needed to complete standard treatments offered. You have tact and discretion when working with patients, families, and physicians. You will maintain a current BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
Completion of a bachelor's degree.
Physical Therapist licensure in the State of Michigan is required.
State issued Driver's License required.
