How you'll contribute
Therapist performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs while enabling them access to therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health.
Therapist counsels patients individually or through group education regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems using evaluative techniques and develops and implements therapeutic treatment.
Therapist provides education, social work services, basic consultation, and crisis intervention. Therapist provides referrals to patients for aftercare.
Lead Therapist supervises individual and group counseling and oversees responsibility for training new staff to ensure clinical documentation is current and accurate and meets all regulatory and other standards.
Lead Therapist will assist with monitoring and coaching relating to accurate and timely completion of documentation and assists with coordinating coverage of shifts.
Lead Therapist will help to disseminate information from the DCS and/or other management to therapists when assigned as needed.

Qualifications and requirements
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or Rehabilitation Counseling or relevant licensure in state of practice.
Previous experience in a chemical dependency out patient care, with direct experience working with chemical dependency and dual diagnosis patients preferred.
Must have strong clinical skills.
Current unencumbered clinical licensure in the state applicable to the facility. For Washington, Lead Therapist CD must meet Washington Chemical Dependency Professional Education requirements: CADC II, CADC III or LAC required.
CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days.

Provides individual, group, and family therapy as well as case management and/or care coordination to consumers with substance use disorders or substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
A Therapist at Catholic Charities:
Obtains information about participants through use of interview, case history, and observational techniques.

* Candidates who have passed their provisional licensure exam and are receiving or needing clinical supervision hours or; who are receiving or needing supervision to work towards eligibility for examination and can be licensed in less than 24 months will also be considered for this position. The Children's Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) Therapist's purpose is to provide individual, family, and group therapy to children/youth who are admitted to the CSU. This includes conducting initial assessments, directing clinical services, and assisting with case management and disposition planning for children/youth.
The mission of Jefferson Center's Children's Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) is to use an interdisciplinary team of clinicians, residential counselors, medical staff and admissions staff to provide brief, 3-5 day, crisis stabilization treatment for children and youth with behavioral health issues, including depression, suicidal thoughts, other trauma reactions, and family issues. Our team coordinates treatment and provides tools and safety planning for children/youth and families so that they can safely return to their homes and the community. We are committed to serving Colorado's children/youth while maintaining a non-judgmental and inclusive approach.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Meets with all assigned children/youth, conduct clinical interviews and set up initial staffing in order to develop treatment plans for each individual.
Maintains caseload as assigned by Manager or Program Coordinator by overseeing the implementation and review of all treatment services provided to each child/youth on caseload.
Primary coordinator for discharge planning and transition of care to community resources for each child/youth on caseload

Works with Case Managers in coordination with the referring agency and/or funding source, community contacts, family, legal system, and other professionals involved in the child/youth's treatment.
