The Behavioral Health Technician Manager at Woodland Recovery Center is a role held by a manager who leads, supervises, and supports the Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) team, focusing on staff development, program quality, scheduling, training, and ensuring proper patient care and documentation, acting as a catalyst between staff and administration to manage daily operations and uphold treatment standards.
Entry Level Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences or C.R.C. certification preferred. Three years' experience in addiction or mental health agency required. One year's experience in a supervisory position required. Verbal or written communication skills required. Computer skills preferred.
Must be able to walk within the facility and on the grounds of the facility for approximately 1 mile per every 8-hour shift.
Must be able to continuously sit for approximately 3hours per 8-hour shift.
Must be able to administer CPR and be certified.
Maintain records and have good communication skills.
Must be able to see 20/40 corrected in each eye and hear (hearing aid acceptable).
If recovering, two years of continuous verifiable abstinence.
General Responsibilities:
Provide supervision and coordinate training for Behavioral Health Technicians and Lead Recovery Support Specialist staff. Maintain work schedule to ensure adequate coverage on all shifts.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for editing time report and ensuring time reported is correct.
Responsible for generating work schedules and ensuring all shifts are adequately covered.
Responsible for hiring support staff (Behavioral Health Technicians, Recovery Support Specialist) with assistance from Human Resources as appropriate.
Coordinate training for Behavioral Health Technicians and Recovery Support Specialist as needed. Conduct periodic meetings with staff as needed.
Prepare and conduct evaluations for Behavioral Health Technicians and Recovery Support Specialist. Obtain approvals from Human Resources prior to meeting with the staff.
Assist with de-escalation of patients as needed. Document all direct care with patients in medical record. Monitor staff documentation.
Review all occurrence reports and patient grievances and process with morning U.R. team.
Coordinate communication between Behavioral Health Technicians and Recovery Support Specialist with clinical staff and medical staff.
On call Behavioral Health Technicians and Recovery Support Specialist call outs.
Supervise/Coordinate non-clinical patients' outings with approval from Executive Director.
Work closely with Lead Behavioral Technician; supervise and direct clinical support team through Lead Behavioral Technician on all shifts.
Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance, must not appear impaired or disoriented, but rather must present coherent and articulate speech, kept appearance, alert, oriented, and responsive to patients' needs and concerns.
Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness to perform the job safely.
Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with coworkers, managers, clients, and prospective clients.
Must be emotionally and physically capable of working effectively in stressful situations.
Regular attendance.
Other duties as assigned.

Serve as mental health staff liaison in group counseling, volunteer activities and other events designed to promote mental health services to inmates/residents.
Assist in supervision of inmates/residents, both within the facility and while in community activities; promote positive community relations and utilize community services, as needed.
Maintain and monitor confidentiality of inmates/residents and their files; audit files to determine that all services provided are documented; review status of inmates/residents to verify that all treatment and therapeutic programs are completed.
Assist in coordinating professional services provided by contract personnel, if applicable, and provide for that their needs to be addressed.
Prepare and maintain a variety of standard narrative, statistical, summary and/or operational records, reports and logs, using appropriate grammar, to include filing, alphabetizing and labeling; review reports and records produced by staff. Properly process all reports and documents in a timely manner.
Attend scheduled staff meetings, group meetings and other staff and group activities essential for effective program and service delivery and to promote communications and the proper flow of relevant information between administration, staff and inmates/residents.
Utilize established corporate, facility and correctional policies and procedures in making decisions, but perform with a high degree of independence and professional administrative skill and use sound independent judgment in meeting the responsibilities and performing the duties of the position.
Review, process and respond (via corporate counsel) to lawsuits; attend court hearings, when necessary.
Read, analyze, comprehend and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations, legal and non-legal documents, including the processing of such documents as medical instructions, commitment orders, summons and other legal writs.
Communicate effectively and coherently to administration, staff, inmates/residents, visitors and the general public, particularly in situations requiring tact, diplomacy, understanding, fairness, firmness and good judgment. This includes giving information, instructions and directions; mediating disputes; advising of rights and processes; and providing reliable testimony, in court and other formal settings.
Maintain equipment and supplies as required, order replacement items in a timely manner via the purchase order system.
Endure verbal and mental abuse when confronted with the hostile views and opinions of inmates/residents and others, e.g. visitors and family members, encountered in an antagonistic environment.
Perform rescue functions at accidents, emergencies and disasters to include administering basic emergency medical aid, physically removing people away from dangerous situations, and securing and evacuating people from confined areas.
Take appropriate action to prevent or diffuse potentially disruptive situations.
Experience exposure to body fluids, wastes and experience encounter with deceased or contagious persons.
Endeavor to comply with the requirements of applicable regulations, laws, rules, procedures, policies, standards and/or contract.

The Lead Staff Psychologist is located in the MSU-Meridian Mental and Behavioral Health Clinic and reports to the Associate Dean of the College of Education and Head of the Division of Education. The Lead Staff Psychologist is primarily responsible for providing high-quality clinical services-including assessment, diagnosis, and individual and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults in the community. In addition to direct service, the Lead Staff Psychologist provides supervision for graduate students, interns, and other psychologists as part of the Clinic's role as a training site. The position also contributes to program development, quality assurance, and the integration of telehealth services to expand access to care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide empirically supported assessment and intervention services, including intake
evaluations, psychological testing, diagnosis, and treatment planning for children,
adolescents, and adults in the community.
2.Deliver individual, family, and group therapy based on clinical need, with referral to
community resources when long-term treatment is indicated.
3. Provide crisis intervention, safety assessments, and referrals as needed to ensure client
well-being.
4. Incorporate telehealth as an extension of clinical service delivery to expand access for
clients.
5. Provide clinical supervision and oversight for graduate students, interns, and other
psychologists within the Clinic's training model.
6. Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with legal, ethical, and
professional standards.
7. Participate in Clinic staff meetings, continuing education activities, supervision, and
other professional development opportunities.
8. Engage in outreach and psychoeducational programming for community partners (e.g.,
presentations, workshops, trainings) to promote mental health awareness and support
prevention efforts.
9. Serve on Division, College, or University committees as appropriate.
10. Support program development and quality assurance initiatives within the Clinic,
including refinement of policies, procedures, and clinical services.
11. Maintain professional licensure requirements, including compliance wth continuing
education standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate degree in Psychology from an APA-accredited program, conferred no later than the date of hire.
Licensed or license-eligible as a Psychologist with the Mississippi Board of Psychology. If license-eligible, full licensure must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Demonstrated experience providing psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for children, adolescents, and/or adults.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and professionally with clients, students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
Commitment to ethical practice and adherence to professional standards of care.
Preferred Qualifications:
Licensed Psychologist in the State of Mississippi at the time of hire.
Experience providing clinical supervision.
Experience delivering psychological services via telehealth platforms.
