Provide individualized acupuncture treatment: The acupuncturist will utilize standard medical evaluation procedures and East Asian Medicine evaluation to formulate a differential diagnosis to develop an acupuncture treatment plan. The acupuncturist shall incorporate the various training techniques taught within East Asian Medicine and acupuncture and may apply safe and effective advanced acupuncture techniques. The acupuncturist shall educate patients on health lifestyle changes including nutrition, exercise, sleeping habits, stress management, mind body techniques and other matters related to acupuncture care.
Provide group acupuncture: The acupuncturist will provide group acupuncture as determined.
Complete clinical notes in electronic health record system: The acupuncturist shall document, code information related to patient care in the VA's electronic health care record on a timely basis following VHA policies. Oral informed consent shall be completed prior to acupuncture and adjunctive treatment( s) and documented in the electronic health record. The acupuncturist communicates with other health care providers as appropriate.
Maintain trainings and attend required meetings: The acupuncturist shall maintain up to date VHA and professional trainings. Required meetings must be attended.
Administration: The acupuncturist will review referrals, screen for appropriateness of care, and direct Veterans to other services when necessary. The acupuncturist is the subject matter expert on acupuncture and East Asian Medicine services and will provide guidance when requested regarding purchased care. Knowledge of complex issues surrounding the delivery of care as it relates to acupuncture services, such as evidence base and cost effectiveness. Problem solves issues in the delivery of acupuncture.
Leadership. The acupuncturist will participate in teaching principles of acupuncture to staff, students and residents including journal clubs, grand rounds, and in-service trainings. The incumbent provides assistance as needed for issues or problems that arise in relation to the acupuncture practice and serves as a preceptor to new staff or less experienced staff and students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Member Support Duties:
Engage members utilizing a trauma lens and cultural humility to quickly establish trust and build rapport.
Partner with members to help them achieve goals around improving their mental health and substance use
Provide therapeutic services, including individual sessions, group sessions, family/couples therapy, and assessments to members with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and physical health issues. Use evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and harm reduction strategies.
Educate members about the connection between mental health, substance use, and physical health, providing tools to enhance overall wellness.
Empower members by teaching coping strategies, life skills, and relapse prevention skills.
Collaborate with members to develop personalized treatment plans that address mental health, substance use, and physical health needs.
Provide crisis intervention for members in acute distress, ensuring safety and immediate support.

Assist members with developing interpersonal skills to connect with members of the community and expand their natural support system.
Complete, maintain, and review documentation for agency and funding requirements within all designated timeframes
Develop and provide resources to members based around recovery services.
Demonstrate consistent adherence to the ethical standards and professional conduct guidelines set forth by the American Counseling Association (ACA), National Association of Social Workers (NASW), and the Professional Counselor (PC) Code of Ethics to ensure safe, ethical, and client-centered therapeutic practice.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in social work (MSW), Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT), or a related field required.
Licensure in the state of Tennessee (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or similar) preferred, or working towards licensure.
At least 2 years of experience providing direct clinical services, preferably with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health issues, substance use, and/or physical health concerns.
Experience working with trauma, substance use recovery, and/or co-occurring disorders is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of harm reduction principles and practices is a plus.
Able to demonstrate strong recovery support competencies and ethical behaviors.
Must have proven written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy.
Must have a valid Tennessee Driver's License.
Must be able to show proof of personal automobile insurance.

Our Camp Counselor positions have the potential to serve as competitively paid internships that meet your course credit needs.
First and foremost, your primary responsibilities will be as a Camp Counselor. As an Intern, you will be expected to fulfill your regular daily job responsibilities and it will be up to you to complete your internship responsibilities and to ensure that they do not interfere with your work obligations. Contact your college advisor in advance and ask them if you can use your summer camp job as a practicum, internship or for other course credits. If KE Camps can meet your internship requirements, your on-site Camp Director will be your field supervisor and oversee your course work. You will also be connected to a KE Camps contact at our HQ in Skillman, NJ.
