Specialized Rehab Services: Offers intensive therapy for conditions like stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedic trauma, neurological disorders, amputation, and other complex conditions.
Therapy Intensity: Patients typically receive 15 hours of therapy per week, guided by a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and therapists.

How you'll contribute
Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs. Provides educational information to patients in regard to injury prevention, ergonomics, restorative therapy and rehabilitation therapy. Supervises physical therapy assistants and aides in performing treatment.
Essential Functions
Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.
Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
Directs and supervises physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. Assesses competence, delegates specific tasks, and establishes channels of communication.
Administers treatment involving application of physical agents, using equipment, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines.
Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications.
Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress and plans for reevaluation.
Qualifications and requirements:
Education: Bachelor's Degree Required
Licenses: Physical Therapist License in Texas
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 30 days of hire
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

This position is grant-funded with an expected end date of August 31, 2026. It is designated as a fellowship opportunity for recent graduates of the Steve Hicks School of Social Work Master of Social Work (MSW) program. Eligible candidates must have graduated in either the December 2024 or May 2025 cohorts.
Purpose
This position aims to professionally develop a recent MSW SHSSW graduate in integrated healthcare service provision through therapeutic evidence-based practice models and measurement-based care approaches to full clinical licensure. Over the two-year period, the position will meet the required supervision hours for a fully licensed clinical social worker. The position will provide therapeutic support to young adults between the ages of 18 and 29 who seek the Amplify Center for mental healthcare, which is part of UT Health Austin.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of an LCSW-S, the mental health therapist completes a biopsychosocial assessment of patients. The applied biopsychosocial model and approach will include cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, supportive therapy, and/or other techniques and modalities as clinically indicated. Completes relative evaluations and treatment plans and provides individual, family, and group psychotherapy. Participates in screening, tracking, and reporting of patient outcomes and social work interventions. Completes documentation in the clinical record related to interaction with individuals served, families, and other service providers in an accurate and timely manner, in accordance with professional ethics and with both Federal and State regulations.
Provides discipline-specific knowledge to interdisciplinary team around mental health, cultural competency, social determinants of health, and innovative ways to approach chronic illness in patients. Participates in value-based research initiatives and research for operational improvements in patient care.
Provides care management to include connecting patients to needed resources such as community mental health services, and other resources in the community.
Maintains clear, timely, adequate, and professional documentation of patient progress, in assessment, goal planning, and discharge processes.
Work collaboratively with an integrated team and provide discipline-specific knowledge about mental health and successful ways to approach young adults' social and emotional needs at work and school.

Required Qualifications
Must be a recent graduate of the UT Austin Steve Hicks School of Social Work with a master's in social work no earlier than December 2024.
Licensure in the state of Texas (LMSW) or be certified as an LPC Associate (LPC-A) in the state of Texas with 1,000 hours towards full clinical licensure.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with other health care professionals (i.e., physicians, psychologists, social workers, school counselors, care coordinators).
Maintain a positive, compassionate, and professional attitude when engaging with patients and their family members.
Possess excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, organizational, planning, follow-up/follow-through, and time management skills.
Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-provider practice environment.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Have experience delivering care as a member of an interdisciplinary team and/or working with young adults.
Have a working knowledge of and/or experience with Brief Intervention, and Motivational Interviewing, and value-based healthcare delivery.
Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
Ability to exercise resourcefulness and good judgment.
Ability to manage multiple streams of work.

Qualifications:

As a key member of the integrated care team in the Addictions Recovery/MAT Program, the IOT Behavioral Health Clinician (BHC) provides trauma-informed, evidence-based interventions for patients with complex behavioral health and substance use needs. Using a harm reduction approach, the BHC supports patients in meeting their recovery goals, addressing co-occurring emotional and psychiatric concerns, and improving overall quality of life.
Working in a fast-paced community health clinic, the BHC assesses readiness for change, provides crisis support, identifies DSM-5 diagnoses, and manages a range of symptoms including anxiety, depression, PTSD, psychosis, and substance/alcohol use disorders. The BHC collaborates closely with addiction medicine providers to deliver coordinated care throughout the recovery process by focusing on stabilization, support systems, and overdose prevention. Behavioral Health Counselors are responsible for providing ongoing individual therapy, new patient intakes, and monthly check-ins as needed.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
* Provide assessments, screening, and intervention services as an essential member of the interdisciplinary care team, through collaboration with the primary care and/or specialty providers to identify, treat, and manage patient behavioral health that is primarily affected by patients' substance and alcohol use.-Consult and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide integrated on-site care, by counselor assessment of patients' goals, readiness for behavioral changes, progress and barriers, and appropriate level of care/ services for patients with MH/substance use disorders, with high proportion of caseloads on medications for treatment of alcohol and opioid use disorders (MAT/MOUD).-Provide trauma-informed, person-centered care, with harm reduction approach, within collaborative addiction recovery team, and in conjunction with patients primary, specialty, acute, chronic, and preventative care.-Provide psychoeducation around recovery models, overdose prevention, and harm reduction to patients and primary support system-Serve all patients who have been scheduled/referred to the AR/MAT Department and maintain low barriers to care; utilize warm handoffs with all other internal/external community social services and medical providers. -Visits may be in-person, telehealth, co-visits, walk-in, scheduled, or as requested by another team within SEHWC.-Utilize current knowledge of access to local and online recovery resources to provide clients with broad variety of pathways to recovery to support, define, and achieve personal goals.-Collaborate with the care team to provide warm hand-offs, and referrals to appropriate level of addiction recovery and mental health care, and/or crisis services as appropriate; Provide crisis interventions as needed.-Develop holistic patient-centered recovery plans, that support patient needs, to include basic, psychiatric, social, financial, environmental, and health needs to improve overall wellness and quality of life.-Utilize appropriate evidence-based non-pharmacologic BH/SUD treatment modalities and interventions based on patient needs, with active knowledge of MI, CBT, CM, ME, Family Therapy, Models of Relapse Prevention, and other appropriate modalities. -Attend patient care huddles, meetings, patient conferences, or planning sessions. These may be related to quality assurance, patient care and other related topics within the clinic.-Ensure all tasks provided and associated with patient care, patient administrative processes and related duties comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards including The Joint Commission and CommUnityCare Standard Operating Procedures and CommUnityCare Policies and Procedures.-Maintain all licensure and/or certification requirements for continuing education and best practices.
