As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct therapy to students in Grades K-12 with special needs including but not limited to development, implementation and maintenance of designated instructional programs, conducting regular assessments, and developing or adjusting individualized education plan (IEP) goals as needed.
‖ Responsibilities Include:
Implementing student-specific occupational therapy services as outlined in each Individualized Education Program (IEP), including adherence to frequency, duration, and service location requirements.
Completing comprehensive assessment reports within state- and district-mandated timelines to support data-driven educational planning.
Communicating evaluation results and individualized therapy recommendations to families, educational staff, students (as appropriate), and related agencies, with appropriate consent from the student's legal guardian.
Planning and developing targeted therapeutic goals that are educationally relevant and seamlessly integrated into each student's academic program.
Conducting ongoing reassessments and modifying therapy objectives based on evolving student needs and progress toward educational outcomes.
Monitoring the fidelity of therapy implementation and collaborating with and training educators, paraprofessionals, and other support staff involved in occupational therapy interventions.
Documenting student progress through timely and accurate reporting in alignment with district standards and program guidelines.
Participating in IEP meetings to share data-informed insights, progress updates, and goal recommendations to support individualized planning.
Creating a supportive, safe, and developmentally appropriate learning environment tailored to each student's sensory, physical, and cognitive needs.
Evaluating progress toward therapy goals and determining when students are ready to transition from or discontinue occupational therapy services.
Facilitating professional development sessions and in-service trainings to enhance the capacity of occupational therapy staff and interdisciplinary team members.
Participating in training school personnel on the effective use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment, while maintaining proper documentation of use and outcomes.
Attending and actively engaging in all required team meetings, trainings, and professional collaboration forums.
Performing additional duties as assigned, contributing positively to the overall success of the student services team.
‖ Qualifications Required:
Master's degree or higher in occupational therapy or a closely related field of study.
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a state occupational therapy (OT) credential.
Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management (PCM) training.
Prior experience and/or highly knowledgeable in providing occupational therapy services, preferably in an educational or classroom setting.
Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with severe learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional behavioral disorders and/or other related disabilities.
Prior experience and/or knowledge in working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's).
Proven success in developing and implementing effective treatment plans for students with diverse needs.
Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals.
Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of staff members, students, parents and the public.
Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
Well-versed in the use of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.

Flexible Fee-for-Service Model:
Our Fee-for-Service model is designed to give clinicians autonomy and balance. You're compensated for the work you do - without the pressure of billable hour quotas. Most clinicians carry between 5-15 clients per week, allowing for flexibility around other professional roles such as faculty appointments, private practice, or family responsibilities. About the role!
The Staff Psychologist is responsible for providing individual, family, group, and/or collateral therapy for children, teens, and young adults. They are also responsible for completing all documentation, including progress notes, in a timely manner in accordance with CHC's documentation timelines, as well as conducting comprehensive clinical intake interviews with parents and clients. This position currently reports to the Clinical Program Manager.
As a Staff Psychologist, you will:
Provide individual, family, group, and/or collateral therapy for children, teens, and young adults.
Conduct comprehensive clinical interviews with parents and clients. Develop a case formulation, and develop tailored, evidence-based treatment plans.
Coordinate clinical care with other disciplines including SLP, OT, education, psychology, and psychiatry.
Conduct in-service training and seminars at CHC or within the community, including parent or teacher education workshops, support groups, or podcast episodes.
Facilitate parent/teacher workshops, facilitate support groups, and/or contribute content for podcasts.
Attend clinical staff and team meetings as assigned, including weekly staff meeting and a regularly scheduled consultation group.
Complete all documentation, including progress notes, in a timely manner in accordance with CHC's documentation timelines.
Adhere to all mental health, legal, and ethical mandates and guidelines in the execution of duties, including timely completion of charting, billing, report preparation, and ethical/confidentiality issues as outlined by the American Psychological Association.
Participate in IEP conferences and other school meetings to assist school personnel in understanding client issues and the rationale for the implementation of recommendations when clinically valid.

Education and Experience:

Compensation: $114k - $150k per year
Overview: Nexus HR is seeking a Clinical Pain Psychotherapist to join a pain management practice in San Jose, CA. This role is part of a comprehensive Functional Restoration Program serving patients with chronic pain in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The majority of patients are workers' compensation cases, requiring support for individuals recovering from work-related injuries and helping them regain function and quality of life.
About the Job
The Licensed Therapist will provide direct psychological clinical services to injured workers through multiple modalities, including initial assessments, case management, psychoeducation classes, and both individual and group psychotherapy. A typical caseload will involve patients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and issues related to physical pain. Experience with art therapy and Spanish speaking is a plus.
The position also involves partnering with the clinical team to assess current treatments, identify opportunities for improvement, and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and case conferences. Therapists will work closely with the pain management team to ensure patients receive high-quality clinical care. Familiarity with documentation within the Worker's Comp system is preferred, as the majority of patients served are injured workers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide individual therapy (e.g. CBT) to adult clients in an outpatient chronic pain clinic
Conduct weekly psychoeducational sessions for individuals attending the Functional Restoration Program (FRP) at the clinic daily
Provide brief individual therapy to individuals in the FRP and evaluate their clinical progress in the program
Assessment and treatment planning for active caseload
Provide clinical care informed by best practices in the field of pain psychology
Refer to other modalities within the clinic as needed
Document all client care in our EMR system (IMS)
Provide clinical care that complies with all the legal and ethical standards
Qualifications:
One or more of the following: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Psychologist (PsyD or PhD)
Art Therapy certification or experience is preferred
Experience in Workers' Compensation Cases is highly preferred.
CPR/BLS certified
Work well in an interdisciplinary team as well as independently
Excellent communication skills with patients and staff
Ability to adapt to diverse patient needs and challenges
Committed to evidence-based practices, leveraging innovation and proven methodologies
Compassionate, patient, and passionate about helping others
Bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred
