Join our team as a Community Outreach Psychiatric Emergency Services (COPES) therapist where you will perform telephone and mobile crisis triage, assessment and stabilization working in a supportive environment. Our Clinicians provide telephone crisis triage for a significant portion of their shift. During their shift when the situation warrants a field based visit the COPES Clinician will travel to the location of the crisis situation with a team and police presence to deescalate and stabilize the individual in need. Our COPES Therapists receive extensive specialized training before stepping out into the field and continual training is provided for this role to ensure comfort and safety of our COPES Team members. The Adult Crisis Therapist provides professional crisis intervention and brief solution focused therapeutic interventions for walk in clients seeking safety, resources, shelter, legal support, and/or other related sexual or domestic violence events. The Adult Crisis Therapist will also assist clients in securing long term therapy within or outside of DVIS, depending upon the situation. Lastly, the Adult Crisis Therapist will hold a small caseload (3-5) clients for individual therapy and will cover group therapy as needed.

· Ensure warm handoffs between departments (legal, case management, adult and children's outpatient, safe housing) to prevent clients from being re-traumatized by repeating their story.
Priority 3: Documentation, Collaboration & Continuity of Care
· Complete timely, accurate crisis notes, lethality assessments, and required reports.
· Coordinate with case managers, law enforcement, hospitals, CPS, and legal advocates to support ongoing safety and stabilize the client's situation.
· Engage clients in short-term crisis counseling and link them to ongoing therapy, support groups, or long-term resources.
Priority 4: Therapy Services
· Facilitate group therapy for adult survivors that includes groups that are both process and curriculum based.
· Maintain a small (3-5) client caseload for ongoing trauma therapy.
· Draft reports/letters for clients, court, or outside agencies.
· Document and maintain client files pursuant to DVIS (and funding sources such as Medicaid and licensing and professional standards)

About this role
Women's Justice Team is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC) program providing integrated care to women with past, current or at risk for criminal justice system involvement. Therapists on this team provide a full range of therapy services under clinical supervision and utilizing selected Evidence-Based Modalities and manage a caseload to ensure proper clinical records. Therapist works with a small multidisciplinary team, in conjunction with the Female Justice Programs Division to network with referral sources, work to engage clients in services, provide court reports by deadlines and support clients to disentangle from the criminal justice system.

Therapist works closely with the criminal justice system and various community partners to ensure participants receive substance abuse and mental health treatment, education, workforce readiness training and family reunification services. Therapist requirements
A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology or its equivalent from an accredited school.
Knowledge and experience in individual, group and family therapy.
To have or be under supervision as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor or have drug/alcohol treatment experience is preferred.
Knowledge and experience in conducting mental health assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning.
Must demonstrate a clinical family systems orientation, competency about motivational interviewing, stages/process of change, the elements of the stages/phases of recovery, and ability to work with diverse populations with multiplicity of problems.
Experience working with court systems and gender-specific treatment a plus.
Must possess a valid Driver License and satisfactory driving record and use personal automobile to travel to locations other than primary office. [Mileage reimbursement provided*]
Must be licensed or under supervision for license with LPC, MSW, LCSW, LMFT, or LADC-MH.
