1986 - Acquisition of Duramic Products, later combined with WESGO and now known as WESGO-Duramic Products, Fairfield

1987

1987 - Acquisition of Spoumd SA, France.

1988

The £20 million purchase of General Electric's Carbon Products division followed in 1988.

The acquisition of a New Bedford, Massachusetts-based company named Alberox took place in 1988.

1989

1989 - Acquisition of Alberox Inc, New Bedford, MA, USA

1990

In January 1990 Manville International's thermal ceramics and electronics operations were acquired for £50.9 million.

1991

1991 - Acquisition of WESGO Inc Belmont, CA and Fairfield NJ, USA, plus WESGO Gmbh, Erlangen, Germany.

1992

1992 - Acquisition of Lodge Ceramics, Rugby, UK from Smith's Industries

1995

1995 - Joint Venture in Jaiding, China creating Shanghai Morgan Matroc Technical Ceramics Co.

1997

In addition to these acquisitions, Morgan entered into a 50/50 joint venture with Japan's Nippon Steel Chemical in 1997, establishing a new company called Shinnikka Thermal Ceramics Corp. to produce ceramic fiber.

1998

1998 - Acquisition of GBC Materials, Latrobe, PA, USA

In 1998 Morgan put its specialty materials division, which included aerospace coatings and lubricants, up for sale.

1999

1999 - Launch of Morgan Advanced Ceramics and Morgan Electro Ceramics

In 1999 Morgan also announced that it would trim 1,100 jobs from its workforce as part of a $33 million cost reduction initiative.

2000

2000 - Acquisition of the Electroceramics Division of Philips in Eindhoven

Morgan began operating in its third century in 2000.

2001

2001 - Acquisition of Performance Materials Inc, Hudson NH, USA and Diamonex Inc, Allentown, USA

2003

2003 - Merger of Morgan Advanced Ceramics and Morgan Electro Ceramics to form Morgan Technical Ceramics

Morgan reorganized in 2003, at which time a new operational structure was chosen.

2003 A reorganization initiative results in the adoption of a new operational structure.

2005

Morgan sold its Magnetics unit for £300 million in late 2005.

2006

2006: Morgan celebrated its 150th anniversary.

2013

2013: The company was renamed Morgan Advanced Materials.

2016: Morgan opens a new R&D Centre of Excellence for Metals and Joining in Hayward, California, US.

2017

2017: Morgan sells UK ElectroCeramics business and Rotary business.

2019

2019: Morgan opens a dedicated Chemical Vapour Deposition-Silicon Carbide manufacturing site in Daegu, South Korea.

2020

2020: Morgan sells Diamonex business.
