**Group/division summary**
This position is part of the Clinical Diagnostics Division (CDD) which provides innovative diagnostic solutions for select IVD market segments and has been a trusted supplier in the IVD industry for over 40 years. CDD delivers products for drugs of abuse testing, therapeutic drug monitoring, quality control, sepsis diagnosis, prenatal screening, advanced laboratory instrumentation and high-throughput laboratory automation equipment for use in a variety of laboratory settings.
**Position summary**
The Director, Manufacturing Sciences (Technical Operations) is a key leadership role at the Middletown, VA site with 500+ colleagues producing over 6 billion tests annually through custom, contract and OEM businesses for Hematology, Hemostasis, Clinical Chemistry, Immunoassay and Molecular.
**How you will make an impact:**
The Director, Manufacturing Technical Operations leads the site technical teams providing strategic direction in the areas of formulation development, manufacturing processes and technology, process improvement, quality performance and improvement.
+ Lead, develop and inspire the team to meet site and organizational goals
+ Provide leadership to the technical team responsible for transfer of new products, ensuring facility fit and appropriate processes and procedures are established through commercialization/life cycle support.
+ Identify and lead initiatives that optimize business and manufacturing processes.
+ Serve as the subject matter expert in technical meetings supporting customer interactions and resolving product issues.
+ Directly support site manufacturing operations by driving effective alignment and partnership for manufacturing process optimization and day-to-day troubleshooting support for manufacturing operations.
+ Facilitate resolution of technical issues within the manufacturing operations in collaboration with Quality including support of root cause and CAPA identification, and lot release, conduct and write NCR investigations and drive CAPA implementation.
+ Own the site Design Master Files for all products.
+ Provide technical expertise for technical investigation and technical reports, and process related issues during production.
+ Coordinate and plan team's project delivery and activities, meeting the financial needs of the company while balancing the needs of customers and end users.
+ Develop and implement programs to drive operational excellence towards right first time and on-time delivery.
+ Maintains proficient knowledge of FDA requirements and industry best practices for IVDR.
**Education:**
+ Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related physical science. Masters or PhD preferred.
**Experience:**
10 years experience in diagnostic reagent manufacturing.5 years experience in a management role.
Clinical Chemistry and Immunoassay experience is required.

In this role you will:
Execute Category Management Principles

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Scientist to join our Manufacturing Sciences team in Frederick, MD. In this role, you will collaborate across functions to enhance process design, enable new product introductions, and ensure technology transfers that support our mission.
You'll contribute to critical initiatives in process optimization, validation, and continuous improvement, helping bring innovative life science products to market faster and more reliably.
**A day in the Life:**
+ Lead and support technical initiatives to strengthen manufacturing robustness, repeatability, and scalability.
+ Partner with cross-functional teams on new product development, method transfers, and process improvements.
+ Train and mentor manufacturing operators on advanced lab automation systems, including liquid handling platforms.
+ Design, schedule, and perform analytical testing using techniques such as fluorescence-based assays, Next Gen Sequencing, qPCR, HPIC, HPLC, and LC-MS.
+ Plan and perform method and process validations in alignment with regulatory requirements.
+ Analyze data, interpret results, and communicate key findings to cross-functional partners.
+ Author and revise manufacturing documentation (SOPs, batch records, technical reports) to support process consistency and compliance.
+ Conduct root-cause analyses, recommend corrective actions, and implement sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence.
+ Maintain meticulous project documentation and ensure the quality and integrity.
**Keys to Success:**
**Education**
+ Bachelor's degree or higher in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
**Experience**
+ 6+ years of relevant industry experience (FDA-regulated product experience preferred).
+ Experience with method and process validation within a regulated environment.
+ Demonstrated proficiency in experimental design and bench-level execution.
+ Familiarity with statistical design and analysis (DOE, gage R&R; JMP or MiniTab experience preferred).
+ Strong background in lab automation (such as liquid handling systems and small volume fillers).
+ Core Strengths: Analytical problem solver with a systems/process perspective, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.

**Compensation and Benefits**
The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $83,300.00-$125,000.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Electric Actuation Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead growth initiatives across the Americas for Emerson's Actuation Technologies Business Unit. This individual will bring deep expertise in selling and servicing electric actuators, application engineering, and technical product knowledge to drive competitive displacement and implement strategic market penetration plans. The SME will collaborate with the sales organization to deliver impactful product training, develop tailored application solutions, and provide technical support to customers, while also partnering with the Product Management Team to ensure product development aligns with evolving market demands. This role offers location flexibility within the United States and reports directly to the Americas Sales Director.
**In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:**
+ Drive order growth into new and diverse markets for Actuation Technologies.
+ Strengthen distribution channel partners' proficiency in selling and servicing electric actuators through varied training formats.
+ Develop MRO business by demonstrating the installed base via regular site visits and walk-downs.
+ Capture customer and competitor intelligence to generate sales leads and displace competition.
+ Accelerate growth through obsolescence planning, upgrades, retrofits, and competitive displacement programs.
+ Promote Actuation Technologies' products, solutions, and services by participating in trade shows, fairs, and conferences.
+ Support field service teams with testing, troubleshooting, disassembly, repair, and reassembly of electric actuators.
+ Collaborate with Internal Sales and product support teams to ensure customer satisfaction, represent the voice of the customer, and uphold business ethics, Go Boldly culture, and trade compliance standards.
